This anime series is based on BLOOD: THE LAST VAMPIRE, and tells the epic tale of Saya Dtonashi, a teenager with amnesia. Wonderful Anime
I have always wanted to see this anime again, but have never been able to. Couldn't resist an opportunity to get the box set. Yes the outer box was beat up pretty bad, as described, we we did not buy it for the box anyway. Dvds were perfect with no scratches. Enjoying watching this series again with my daughter. Thank you so much!

Great Anime Series
This is a great follow on to the 'Blood: the last vampire' feature. This series follows an amnesiac girl Saya. Saya is a vampire hunter, and she is great at her job, trouble is, due to her amnesia, she doesn't know how good she is exactly, or that she can kill vampires at all. In the blood universe, the vampires are called 'chiropterans'. They assume human form until the need to feed, then they revert to their beast form and hunt for humans. Chiropterans will also use their beast form to gain a fighting advantage is the are challenged during battle. Saya is faced with fighting chiropterans, juggling her school/social life, and remembering details of her past. Her true power will be realised once she regains her past, but does she really want her life back? is it better to forget the past ... Saya's stories are great- the series, the features, all of it is sweet for anime fans.

Too Good To Miss
Blood+ is a great series with intriguing characters, plot, and animation that is superbly done in every episode. The action scenes are not over extended, nor are they violent with purpose (even if there is quite a bit of violence). Science fiction-style vampires, government conspiracies, gorgeous animation, detailed action scenes, great soundtrack, and characters that the audience can really enjoy. What more could one ask for in an anime series? Part One comes in a gorgeous artbox and even has a Blood+ t-shirt included, with the DVDs in small slim cases (which makes the case seem empty once you remove the T-shirt). One the flaws of this box set would have to be the price, as since it is licensed by Sony, one has to be prepared to pay a lot or find it cheap through Ebay or Amazon.com. ... So as much as I would really encourage anime fans to check out this series, I would definitely also say to look for the deals as I know it's not worth the retail price.

All 5 DVDs of blood+ season 1
I noticed the set I got were not resurfaced unlike the description claimed. That's false mine had hairline scratches on all disks and some had more pronounced scratches. I'll need to buy a disk resurfaced to refurbish them now. I'm happy that I was able to buy the complete first season of blood+ because, it's really becoming rare and expensive.

Blood + Volume 1. A must view for anime fans.
Cartoons aren't just for kids anymore. Adults enjoy them every bit as much, especially quality adult oriented cartoons like Blood +. I found this gem on Adult Swim on Cartoon Network and have enjoyed each episode I've watched. I missed several of the earlier ones, which is why I bought Vol 1 with the first 25 episodes of the series and I'm now awaiting the 2nd half of the series. It's refreshing to find a cartoon that is both visually pleasing, has a great story, and has characters that you care about. It doesn't come across as silly, which some Japanese cartoons do to American audiences, but it is violent with some themes a few might find disturbing. It's not for kids. Other good Adult Swim cartoons that are worth your time are Trinity Blood and Ghost in a Shell.Cartoons aren't just for kids anymore.
