Semiretired mob guy Eddie DeCooch is caught trafficking contraband cigarettes through Trenton, New Jersey. When DeCooch fails to show for a court appearance, bond enforcement agent Stephanie Plum is assigned the task of finding him and dragging his decrepit ass back to jail.     Seven Up by Janet Evanovich (2002)

    This is another good book, even though I liked the last two better. Steph has traded in Ranger's life-threatening security job for the return of her safer bounty-hunter job, and starts out trying to catch Eddie DeChooch, an 80-year-old train-wreck-of-a-bail-jumper who gets caught smuggling cigarettes, AKA Grandma Mazur's ex-boyfriend, whom she describes as a "non-performing DUD" (if you know what I mean...). The old guy can't see, can't hear and can hardly walk by himself, yet he seems to be able to elude Steph at every turn. DeChooch is trying to catch two of Steph's old doper school buddies who operate a wholesale-retail business out of thier house that includes highjacked and stolen items and drugs, because he thinks they have something he needs in ...

    Seven Up

    Stephanie is assigned to bring in semi-retired mobster Eddie DeChooch when he fails to appear in court for selling contraband cigarettes. When two of Stephanie's burned-out high-school friends, Walter 'MoonMan' Dunphy and Dougie 'The Dealer' Kruper, get themselves mixed up in DeChooch's cigarette scheme -- and then vanish -- Stephanie calls the mysterious Ranger for help. With Ranger's assistance, plus the 'aid' of two (very polite) hoodlums with a talent for breaking-and-entering, it becomes apparent that DeChooch may have come out of retirement... To make things worse, Stephanie's perfect older sister Valerie divorces her cheating husband, and moves back in with her family, along with her two daughters. She then proclaims herself to ...

    Excellent fun read, good author at a wonderful price

    I love the Stephanie Plum series that Janet Evanovich has written. I was having a hard time finding this particular book in the series at all the discount stores I usually buy from. I kept hearing about half.com/ebay, so I thought I'd look there. I was able to find and buy the book at a lower price than I would have paid if I had bought it in a store. The book was in the condition described and I loved reading it. I will probably continue purchasing books through half.com/ebay as I am an avid reader who likes to save money whenever possible. I highly recommend Janet Evanovich as an author, as well. When I finish with this series, I plan on reading some of her other books. She's fun and quirky and very enjoyable to read.

    Stephanie is at it again! Nonstop hilarity and action

    This is Janet Evanovich's 7th book in the Stephanie Plum series. She is again bounty hunting someone slightly dangerous. This time his name is DeChooch. All the while she is fighting the inner fight she has over Joe and Ranger. She fights with temptation and whether or not to give in to her feelings for Ranger. This books gets you interested from page one and you are still wondering what happens about some things when you get to the last page. It is a good mystery wound around action and Stephanie's chaotic life and love life.

    Another great read by Janet Evanovich

    It is not difficult for me to write this review since I have become a Janet Evanovich addict. Her characters are continually amusing, exciting and mostly are identifiable types. Stephanie Plum is an intelligent and very self-aware woman who knows her strength and weannesses. She has a Grandmother that is a little off-kilter but very fun. I love the interactions among all of the characters in Evanovich's novel and I really hate to have the vicarious adventure end but know I can look forward to the next book from this prolific and gifted author.
