Great movie, lots of extras
Besides the film, which is a documentary and very entertaining and informative, the Collector's Edition package, which includes a patch, Life magazine replica, photos, and an image changing plastic display. Not to mention the wood swede-fringe covered box it's all in, was in very nice shape and complete.

Box Set On Pristine Condition
8/25/22 Box set was in BETTER condition than described. Looks brand new! Fast delivery. Lots of special memorabilia included in this "fringe set" - such as reproduced tickets for the entire 3 days & mini reproduction of LIFE magazine devoted to Woodstock. The "regular" 40th anniversary only has 2 DVDs. *THIS* is the 40th anniversary set to have - not just for the extras - but because there is a THIRD DVD & .... it is the one that actually has all the bands & music on it. ~~ My personal opinion regarding the movie: They wasted too much film on how WS was put together, including a mind-numbing "interview" with some stoned-out space cadet. What I want to see is THE ENTIRE FESTIVAL! I WANT TO SEE THE FULL SETS IN ORDER BY EVERY ARTIST THAT WAS THERE! Somewhere, someone ... 8/25/22 Box set was in BETTER condition than described. Wish I was there
A mind blowing experience from start to finish, a nostalgic behind the scenes look interviews with brilliant musicians who are no longer with us. Duirng the most amazing era in both musical and American history. The music is timeless, there will never be another Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Cocker, and so on. It was amazing for me the child of a hippie, who was at this very event and even stayed after to help clean up. It blows my mind this historical event was thought of by a few guys who just wanted three days if peace , and music. A time when people where more considerate caring for each other than now. I was able to see Woodstock 94 another amazing era in music history, an experience I will always value cherish and be thankful for. But like many things the original the one that ... Great Concert! Lousy packaging.
Although I am giving this set 3 stars it is not for the show itself. If you have never seen Woodstock and you are a rock fan, I definitely suggest you see it. You may not even be a fan of Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, or some of the other bands, and I will still tell you to see this show. There are better concerts for sale, but in my opinion this opened my mind to the music world enormously. Many of the songs featured on this concert came to the artists on the spot. They had no time to rehearse some of them (except the pieces they had been performing on their regular tours), and really represent this time period. The ones that have always stuck out to me was Country Joe's Fish Chant - Vietnam song, and Ritchie Havens "Freedom - Motherless Child". Also a fact many ... Okay now that is out of the way, why am I giving this set 3 stars. To be quite honest I do not like the way it is packaged. They throw in lots of extras that are nostalgic pieces such as a reprint mini version of the LIFE magazine that showed the event, but they did not place the DVDs inside a plastic case. Instead they are inside cardboard sleeves. The outer case is made out of a hard plastic and has ruffles on it, but you have remove another thin cardboard box to get to the actual contents. It just seems to me that for the price, and the amount of perseverance that they used to create this set, they could have used better packing materials to keep the product safe.
