This OVA is a sequel to the popular BLUE SEED television series, which found high school student Momiji Fujimia leading the Earth's defense against the Arigami, shape-shifting, destructive beings that often take the form of vine-like creatures. In BEYOND, a deranged scientist has brought back the Arigami, which soon begin to terrorize San Francisco. Once again, the TAC are called in to stop this menace, though they, as always, have problems of their own.

Good sequel to the show
If you enjoyed the show Blue Seed, then you should consider buying this sequel. In beyond, they kept almost all the same characters and about the same type of story line that went with the show. Beyond was a little duller in comedy and they went away from the panty shots that were always happening in the show, but they still had about or almost the same amount of humor as the show. It was nice to see a sequel that did not go really far off of the original show, and did not have the main characters completely change in attitude or getting killed off. Instead, beyond kept most of the humor and main characters for the show, and even added a new one. Beyond starts off with new aragami attacking japan and a new female character that came to help stop them. She helps defeat the new aragami. ... They were later found to be man made Aragami by a somewhat mad scientist that is looking to make the perfect being. He feels that he needs one of the kushinada as a subject to make the perfect being. In doing so he lures Momiji to California to use her to make the perfect being. You find out that the new girl is infused with a man made aragami soul, and for that reason Kusanagi kinda feels for her, but because he shows her a little attention, Momiji gets jealous and feels that Kusanagi does not like her any more. I think that they go a little too far with the whole jealousy thing and it does get a little annoying at times, but overall, it is a decent sequel to watch that will not turn you against the show. Some shows have OVA's or sequels that make you wish that you never watched it. This is not one of them.

It’s the series was good but this expansion was very quick and they changed the voice actor of the main characters.

Gotta have it in your collection.
I liked this one well enough to go out and get the complete series set. This has all the ingrediants of what makes anime good -- monsters, characters you care for, angst, love, loyalty, the true meaning of friendship and family....all done quite well. Go get Blue Seed.

it was a good title
I bought it as a birthday present for a friend. She seemed to enjoy it a lot.I like it because that is the item that she asked for.
