À propos de ce produit

Product Information

Gamers drive their virtual alter egos toward greatness, as the second generation of "people simulation" gets a life on consoles. Though it features the same charming style and real-world challenges, the PlayStation 2 version of Sims 2 has been customized for the console. As in the console ports of the original Sims game, there is more of a focus on the player's main character, and less on the neighborhood interactions as a whole. Along this line, the most obvious difference between the computer and console versions of Sims 2 may be in the way players control their characters. Instead of a point-and-click strategy-game styled interface, players take direct control of their console characters, "driving" them around the game world with the analog stick (as in a third-person RPG).

Other differences also allow players to concentrate on their individual console characters. Unlike characters in the PC version of the title, PS2 sims do not age or have children. Players still have great control over their characters' looks and lifestyles however. By choosing different "grandparent DNA," players can alter the look of their sim until it's just right. A new "fashion designer" feature allows players to create their own custom outfits from a wide selection of mix-and-match components. The console version also uses the Sims 2 aspiration system, which allows players to define their character's "life goal," and makes it easy to find everyday activities that help work toward it.

Other features are exclusive to the console versions of the game, such as personal interactions that blur out the background to concentrate exclusively on the involved sims, and a food creation system that challenges the players' creativity as well as the characters'. Characters can collect objects found all around the game world, from fruit off a tree to fish in an aquarium, and combine these as they see fit into a new meal. Some custom meals may produce desirable effects in those who consume them, while others may just make characters sick, so discovering and perfecting recipes can be an ongoing, profitable mini-game for those who are willing to experiment.

  • This Ain't Yo Momma's Video Game

Okay, I can honestly say that I have loved the Sims franchise ever since they decided to branch off from the PC. I consider myself a cut above the geeks who still sit hunchbacked in front of the screen, massaging their pocketprotectors and fiddling with the tape on their glasses. Sims 2 for the PS2 has brought playing make-believe to the 21st century, and all those who have secretly harbored a desire to play barbie dolls, can once again rejoin the rest of humanity. Alright, let's go over the basics. The game doesn't really introduce anything overtly new or extraordinary for fear that gamers would rise up in angry retaliation. However, the game does look pretty darn good compared to its counterparts; The Sims and The Sims: Bustin Out. The characters actually look believable, and the ...

  • The Sims 2

I have really enjoyed this game so far. It gets a little tricky to play sometimes. In each new house you move into you have to help at least one of the people who live there. It's hard to complete their wants and your own persons wants at the same time. Usually I just focus on the person who lives there so I can keep moving through the game. It's also hard to keep your Sim's friends while you play since they have virtually no time between work and fulfilling their daily needs. Pros: -New places to visit all the time. -You can skip going to work more often, just make sure they don't miss two days in a row. -New wardrobe. Cons: -You can't have children. -You can't have any pets. -The fire hazard thing is ridiculous. If you buy too many objects you will violate the fire hazard rule, ...

  • Fairly decent game

I bought this game a few weeks ago and I was thrilled. The game has MANY new features that the first game lacked, including 2 player story and freeplay modes, and was a very eventful and challenging change of gaming for me. The only thing that I disliked about this game is that the loading screens take a bit longer then I would have liked, so you sometimes wonder if the game has frozen. However; if you just give it a moment it will all run smoothly again. I would definately recommend buying this game if you like simulation games or just are bored with your own life and want to be in control for a change!

  • The Sims 2 for Playstation 2

I love the different movement system using the analog stick. I think the time/need ratio is a little lame.. If you get a job its very difficult to take care of everything when you're home before its time to work again. Many neat features in this game though, including recipes and goals, as well as fears. A great balance between the PC and PS2 Sims games. I also love the create a sim options and the genetics system.

  • The Sims 2 (for PlayStation 2)

As a huge Sims game fan, I have to say that this particular one was exactly how I thought it would be. A canvas for anyone who wants to show their creativity to fill up. It had more items, more options, more clothing, and more customizations. There were some faults though. Unlike the Sims 2 pets or other sims 2 games, you could not see the airial shot of the lot you were building in, which made it very difficult to build houses and place items in. Other than a few minor setbacks though, this game was another wonderful collectors item that EA Games has created. I will recommend this item if you enjoy The Sims games and expressing yourself through simulated adventure.
