Rudolph any time of year.
Rudolph has it all. Its action adventure, fantasy, drama, scary, a musical, and has life lessons. Classic, and you don't need to worry about waiting 12 months to see it next holliday season. Rudolph, Hermy, Yukon, and the gang are awaiting you. And don't forget "Bumbles bounce".

Simpler times
Sometimes I need a little something to take me back to simpler times and cartoons like this and other older ones do the job. I have nothing but good memories back in those days.

The Complete Must-Have Version (2010)
I did a lot of research before I purchased this particular DVD. It is the 2010 version that contains the complete movie, including scenes and songs that had been edited out of prior versions to make room for commercials. This was, after all, originally a 1964 television Christmas special. It even contains the rarely seen scene (I didn't do that on purpose!) where Yukon Cornelius yells, "Peppermint!" If you buy this particular version you'll know what I'm talking about. It's a wonderful special, there isn't a bad song in the bunch and it has a nice message - it's okay to be different and sometimes being different saves the day! The digital remastering isn't perfect but it doesn't need to be. There are still spots and things in the film, but that's part of its charm, right? So buy ... Lastly, I read lots of reviews of other versions, including the 50th Anniversary version, and many of them were edited, had bad sound, etc. Get the one with the cover showing Rudolph's face and a green circle that says, "The ORIGINAL Christmas Classic." You won't be disappointed.

This is the original!
If you’re looking for the original TV special we remember from our childhood, this is the one. Make sure you do your research before you purchase. If another reviewer hadn’t advised to look for the “small green circle identifying it as the original” I likely would have bought the wrong one. If you’re not careful, you’ll end up with some remastered special edition that features modern day pop stars. Awwwww! I remember watching this on tv when I was a kid. Love the look of the old Rankin Bass stop motion.
