Quality Lacking for DVD
I bought it because I'm a Streisand fan. I remembered watching the special when it first came on tv in the late 70's. I wanted to add it to my small collection of MUST HAVE DVD's Visual quality on about 75% of the DVD was excellent. Sound quality faded back and forth. I'm not sure if that was the visual quality of the DVD itself or the original program. The other 25% faded from average to poor quality color. It was as if I were watching on a TV that was ready to go out... regular lighting to dark fading and lots of darkening colors in reds and greens then back to the regular lighting. Barbra in Multi-Cultural Extravaganza
Never saw this when I was a kid but my Grandmother saw it and told my mother and I how good it was and that Barbra belly dances in this special! So, it was great to be reminded of it all these years later and be able to get a copy. Very artistic show as she travels the world experiencing different cultures on stage.

Barbra has been my idol for more years than I care to mention. I long ago began calling her an instrument before that term ever hit the media. This DVD shows her at some of her best. A wide variety of instruments, song styles, and a beautiful array of costumes. A great addition for any Barbra fan, and even those who aren't. I mean, who else can sing with household appliances and make it sound good?Barbra has been my idol for more years than I care to mention. Barbra Streisand and other Musical Instruments '73
Barbra is in top form on this special - she looks gorgeous and holds notes on I Got Rhythm and On a Clear Day forever and ever ! It was long overdue that Barbra put this out on dvd- fans have been trading bootlegs of this for years. The lighting is beautiful and the versatility of her talents include dancing - and piano playing as well- I wish this dvd and the other 4 shows had commentaries but i guess they already have all the written notes in Just for the Records companion book- I love the visuals of this show- and the premise of world music- it is a masterpiece of television for Barbra - I hope Barbra is proud of this show- as her fans are too- and Funny Lady - Barbra as Fanny Brice in her marriage to Billy Rose the sequel to Funny Girl should have been nominated for oscars for that ...
