Product Information

A tormented mother grapples with feelings of accountability and intense grief after her troubled 15-year-old son commits an act of violence that shakes their community to its very core. Eva (Tilda Swinton) had a promising career when an unplanned pregnancy threw her life off-balance, though she selflessly put her own ambitions aside to give her son, Kevin, a good life. From the moment Kevin was born, there was a palpable tension between mother and son. Years later, as a teenager, Kevin (Ezra Miller) snaps. As the community recoils from Kevin and his family, Eva begins to question whether or not she ever really loved her son in the first place. John C. Reilly co-stars in this psychological drama based on the novel by Lionel Shriver, and directed by Lynne Ramsay (RATCATCHER, MORVERN CALLAR).

    Amazing Film, Slow Burn. Short But Great Special Features

    CASE: The Canadian version of this film has both English and French text on the case. ENGLISH VS FRENCH: The BluRay itself when played first asks which version of the Bluray you want to watch - English or French. When I chose English it played a few trailers, oddly the films all had something related to the French - either French music or French characters. Then the main menu came on, ONLY in English and all the special features that are listed on the product are there. The movie plays in English without subtitles by default. So, it does seem as if you're getting the full English-only experience once you choose "English" in the beginning. I was worried what the experience would be like. That extra top menu asking about language isn't a huge deal. SPECIAL FEATURES: The Making-Of feature ...

    Parent's worst nightmare...

    It's a story that many parent's have to face but, luckily, rarely to this level. What do you do when you know your child is different? You see the signs, you know there's a problem. Are you over reacting, will time help the issues or maybe you are reading too much into certain behaviors? Tragedies leave many victims and this movie focuses on the forgotten victims. Is it a great movie? No but it's a very good that's extremely well done and well worth a watch. No politics, no judging. Just a story that needs to be told. Well written, well acted and well put together.

    Incredible Movie!

    Love the soundtrack as well! It's certainly a psychological thriller, but the director delivers it in a somewhat dark humorous way. I'm a psych major, so I loved analyzing the nature vs. nurture themes.
