A Great Game for resident evil fans
Resident Evil 2 takes place shortly after the events that transpired in the original game. Rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy heads toward Raccoon City for his first assignment, only to find that the city has been overrun by zombies. Likewise, Claire Redfield enters the city on a quest to find her brother, Chris Redfield, who was a member of the S.T.A.R.S. team featured in the original game. You can play through the game as Leon or Claire in separate quests, but aside from a few areas involving secondary characters and some different story elements, the two quests are largely the same. A great game for all resident evil fans however, this is nothing more than a port with no major improvements or contents of the original. the good things about the game is that the controlers are better ... A great game for all resident evil fans however, this is nothing more than a port with no major improvements or contents of the original. the good things about the game is that the controlers are better because of the fact that the gamecube controllers are more comfortable to play with.the game offers the arrange mode (which gives you unlimited ammunition and all of the powerful weapons right off the bat), so you can easily breeze through it in a few hours. the graphics are the same with no aparent improvemnt other that if you have component cable you can have a better picture. A good advantage of this port is that you can play it with the gamecube or the wii for that matter which means is more accesible to old and new gamers. noot to forget the fact that you can cheat because of the action replay.however keep in mind that this game is by no means worth buying if you have to pay more than 30 dollars

Absolutely great game found at a good price and with a neat collector's magazine to boot!
A wash of nostalgia flew over me when opening this package and whenever I play the game, a great time and one is highly recommend should you be new or accustomed to the survival horror series that is Resident Evil.

Classic Resident Evil, Great but Lacking
I love zombies. They're awesome. I sort of hope (in an incredibly sick and satyric way) that the zombie apocalypse will happen. I understand the story behind the resident evil franchise and I feel it is one of the best zombie origin stories on the market. Now it should be understood that this is a port, a direct port of the 1996 PSX game. I was a little disappointed to see that they didn't attempt to upgrade the graphics at all. Lord knows the Gamecube has the power to produce some good looking games. The voice acting was laughable at times. Very hokey. For example, everyone knew that they were zombies, nobody questioned that the dead were rising, they were just focused on collecting herbs to heal themselves. The game is also very easy by todays standards. But it ... I love zombies. They're awesome. I sort of hope (in an incredibly sick and satyric way) that the zombie apocalypse will happen. This is a game that will frighten you, maybe not creep you out, but it will cause you to jump more than a dozen times. The puzzles are still challenging today, and the game asks for a very intense attention to detail to find every piece to every puzzle. The game also gives you a two-for. You choose to play as either Claire or Leon. Once you finish their story, you start on the other persons with differences which you caused in your first game. Revolutionary for its time. This game was awesome in '96. This game will only be awesome to real zombie enthusiasts. I bought this because a list of best zombie games of all time had this listed first. The Nostalgia factor is definitely strong with this one. But if you're looking for the greatest zombie game of all time, pick up Dead Rising for the 360.

Resident Evil 2 is the smash hit sequel to the original classic Resident Evil for Playstation 1. The Gamecube version is a direct port from the PS One version with many noticeable differences if you’ve played the original. Graphics: The graphics have been noticeably smoothed out and are much more polished compared to the original version. While the characters still look boxy and somewhat comical in certain parts they still manage to look good and the monsters themselves still manage to give a scare. Speed: The speed of the game has been ramped up to make for a much quicker and smoother game experience. The playable characters move way faster now which is good since all the monsters do as well. In certain situations zombies, lickers and dogs literally run full speed at your character ... Resident Evil 2 is the smash hit sequel to the original classic Resident Evil for Playstation 1. In certain situations zombies, lickers and dogs literally run full speed at your character which can make for some harrowing experiences. A major blessing in the speed department is the load screens. The load screens for walking up steps, opening doors, climbing ladders and crawling through ducts have been sped up to the point where they take no real game play time away. Sound: The sound has also been improved. One of the main selling points of the game is the sound since the constant creepy music and noises in the distance still create an atmosphere of dread and impending doom which adds to the scares when something comes crashing through a wall or window at you. Game play: Overall the game play is still good and benefits from the faster processing of the Gamecube. As stated above the game’s newfound speed and smoother graphics really make it play much better than it did on its original Playstation One platform. The only real negative I can point out about the game is it didn’t get the remake treatment like Resident Evil 1 for Gamecube. The storyline cut scenes somewhat suffer because of the graphics available at the time and what should be a frightening scene or a dramatic revelation sometimes becomes laughable due to the wooden and sometimes bizarre repetitive arm movements of the characters or the fact that nobody’s facial expression changes or lips move in certain cut scenes. You could get the same effect if you acted out a scene with GI Joe figures. All in all I say the game is well worth the purchase and it has tons of replay value with the 4th Survivor Mini Game scenarios featuring Hunk and the insanely funny character Tofu as well as the special Extreme Battle Mode mini games which features Leon s. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Ada Wong and Chris Redfield. I highly recommend this game to anyone who’s a fan of Resident Evil or survival horror games. It’s a classic that still stands out as one of the best of the genre.

A Duplicate Title That Doesn't Belong
This game, much like Resident Evil 3, is just terrible. First of all, it's just a straight up duplicate of the version that was originally released on PlayStation - what does that mean? It means that the graphics, sound, animations and controls are completely and utterly disappointing for this game. Fans who got to play the remake of the original Resident Evil, along with the GameCube only Resident Evil Zero, were treated to amazingly long games, with great plots, great presentation and virtually no flaws. So why would Capcom stoop so low as to just reissue the second and third titles without updating them to the next level of consoling gaming, adding some new features or at least giving something to differentiate this between the original PS game... Honestly, this game is so ... This game, much like Resident Evil 3, is just terrible. After giving us smash face titles like RE and Zero, there's no excuse for this recycled garbage. You will be bored, you will be regretting spending your money and you will be wasting your time. My suggestion....download this game as a ROM for an emulator - but then again, it's not even worth doing THAT for this lousy game. Resident Evil 2 and 3 leave much to be desired because they give you nothing to work with.
