In this action-packed roleplaying video game release, players make their way to Melanat while playing the role of Alexander. Alexander is the best friend of the king and is on a quest to prevent a horde of monstrous creatures from overtaking the kingdom. He must do this by finding the powerful moonlight sword, a relic of vast power.When you first start this first-person game, you're simply dropped into an ancient world. You are only given the most basic of information and left to fend for yourself. The lack of clues makes this title stand out in the RPG genre. Most games at least point you in a direction when you start your journey. In this title, however, your first steps are whatever you want them to be, and you can play through the dungeons in any order.No matter which direction you go in King's Field, you'll have to fight. Combat is a tense affair that requires gamers to learn the patterns of their enemies. You will battle additional combatants in a three-dimensional playing atmosphere where foes can come from all directions. This 360-degree viewing offers realistic gameplay and will keep you on your toes at all times. While you'll begin with a weak sword, eventually you'll find all manner of weapons. Axes, broadswords, a ring, and heavy suits of armor will allow you to stand a chance in battle. You'll also gain access to magic spells that let you fry an enemy from a distance. As you fight, you'll need to keep a close eye on your strength meter. This meter depletes after every swing, and you need to wait for it to fill again before attacking.King's Field will throw all manner of monsters at you as you attempt to help the king. The standard assortment of fantasy creatures is here, including skeletons and plant monsters. However, what makes these opponents stand out is how difficult they are. Many creatures can kill you in just one swing. It's for this reason that King's Field is known as one of the hardest PlayStation games. In fact, when you first start the game, one wrong turn could lead you directly to a boss. However, each defeat will give you the knowledge you need to succeed on the next try. Gameplay intensifies with increasing difficulty until you face the boss, a black dragon named Guyra who leads the horde.This Japanese video game will take many gamers more than 30 hours to complete due to its difficulty. It's packed full of content for players to discover, from secret rooms to powerful hidden bosses. Those who are patient and put in the time necessary to succeed will find a rewarding Sony game.

A 1st person Action RPG Fit for a Console King!
On january 1 1996 The U.S. console gaming world was quietly taken by storm with the release of King's Field a pc quality 1st person (Real Time) RPG. The critics raved but Rpgs really hadnt caught on very strongly in the U.S. at that point. The franchise still stands alone as one of the most moody & fear provoking in rpg history. In KF you are stranded after a shipwreck with only a dagger & a herb to start with. Where am I? Whats that moving in the distance? These are likely the 1st 2 things you will wonder as the game begins, but much is to be discovered. Roam around 1st person in a full 3D enviroment finding items to help with your quest. Items include magic filled crystals, weapons, armors, money & more. Speak to other characters trapped on the island to expose an interesting & ... Speak to other characters trapped on the island to expose an interesting & deep story line.(the tale of the gods Gura & Seath) Fight monsters consisting of a wide variety of killer plants, skeletons, knights, spiritual beings, demons & evil soldiers in real time by hacking, slashing & casting devastating spells. The (now old) graphics have a muted artistic look at times & a stunningly detailed look at points as well.(the demon lords look very detailed for the time). Make your way through the vast amount of areas, some are themed like the ice cavern, the arena, grave yards & the fire cave. The pace of the game & musical themes being mostly classical based help in setting the "tone" of the game. This is a very well developed game with practly no load times, none after you start playing. With that as part & the music in the background, the game tends to flow in almost a constant pushing forward into new areas. Save spots are common & you will want to save fairly often. This game is fairly unique & may take more than a couple of minutes to get used to the playing mechanics but is well worth the time.(play at least an hour to really give it a chance) If you utilize the items you find the game isnt very hard, but will likely seem hard when you 1st start. Remember its an RPG & your only level 1 & will likely die a couple of times before you get to the 1st save(even though its pretty close to the starting point of the game) You fight & raise character levels like any standard rpg. The game has the nice feature of molding your character to your playing style. For Example if you melee fight alot your character gets extra strong & if you use magic you get better with the element class of spells cast on top of becoming generally better with magic. All the spells are cast realtime in full 3D. Nice early PS lighting effects & seldom any real slowdown. All melee & bow combat is hit detection based(like tes Oblivion) not random stat rolls(like morrowind) so the better you get at the game the better you do. All rpg fans should try this game out & its a must play if you like 1st person RPGs. This game was the main reason i bought a playstation & i still go back & play it 1-2 times a year. There are 3 U.S. games in the franchise. If you've played KF & like it be sure to check out similar games from Fromsoftware(the developer) of KF. Try KF2 & Shadow Tower on the playstation & Eternal Ring & KF4 on the PS2 My numerical ratings 1-10 higher is better. Game play 9 slight bit of slowdown at times & no analog control support. Graphics 8 this game is close to 12 years old, but it looks ok to good. Music 10 some tracks are better than others but the worst is ok Fun factor 9 no game has the feel of KF Enjoy

KINGS FIELD FIRST PERSON RPG GAME
I have not figured out why but a lot of people do not like Kings field. Me personal I love every game in the series. As well as the other games ascii made. (shadow tower, eternal ring, echo night, and evergrace. These are my favorites in that order) I would recomend this game to people that love RPG games and first person. Tis is like a huge first person RPG game. The game is slow and takes time but it can suck you in. The graphics in kings field 1 are not the best in the world but good music and gameplay can suck many hours of your life away from you but afterwards it will be a fond memory of killing and triumph One great thing about this game its Cheap. I guess it does take a certain game player to play because though its one of my top 10 games ever almost all the magazine companies ... This game provided an experience that had never been seen before on a console, and hasn't really been seen since. Blending first person action with RPG elements and excellent gameplay, it took about 30-45 minutes to get used to it, but once you do, everything you do feels like a great achievment in a wonderful adventure. Hard to put down, and easy to come back to, this is another very unique game that should NOT be missed by anyone.This game provided an experience that had never been seen before on a console, and hasn't really been seen since. Blending first person action with RPG elements and excellent gameplay, it took about 30-45 minutes to get used to it, but once you do, everything you do feels like a great achievment in a wonderful adventure.
