The Beginning of an Epic Saga spanning 170 books.
This is the first book in a series of..170 books at the last count. Amazed? Well you should be, that's quite an innings for a series about dragons and dwarves. I borrowed the first book 'Autumn Twilight' from a friend when I was 14 in 1993 and was immediately hooked. For a younger reader just getting into reading I'd recomend this first 'Chronicles' trilogy and then the Legends trilogy. You can pick up cheap copies of the Pengiun (english) prints very easily, the TSR/Wizards (american) prints are harder to come by in the U.K. Humans, a grumpy old dwarf, elven warriors, kender(halfling) thief, a frail mage with golden skin and hourglass eyes and a plainsman priestess bringing lost magic back to the world of Krynn. Set at a time where the gods have abandoned the world following a shattering cataclysm some centuries before we follow the return of godly magic, of an evil goddess, of dragons (good and bad), elves snubbing men, men distrusting anyone not human, dwarves distrusting elves and everyone seems to be sick of kender. You also have your usual affair of orcs, goblins, hobgoblins, gnomes, lizardmen and such like roaming around causing mischief. Follow the journey through the seasons autumn-winter-spring as their tale unfolds, what is the mysterious dragon orb, where are the fabled dragon lances of Huma's day? Where are the dragons of good and most important of all..where is Fizbans hat ? If you see that door-knob of a kender around tell him to return my purse of coins that he accidentally found!

I bought this book for my husband. He has read enjoyed the books writting by R. A. Salvatore. So far so good with this book. He is liking it.

Absolutely amazing
Sets an amazing stage for the rest of the books to follow. Just another fantastic work by two of the ages indisputably most talented authors discovered. A must read for any fan of the Dragonlance series. These two are unstoppable; i promise you wont be able to put it down one you've started, and you won't be sorry for it.
