À propos de ce produit

Product Information

The old saying is wrongwinners do quit, and quitters do win. Every new project (or job, or hobby, or company) starts out exciting and fun. Then it gets harder and less fun, until it hits a low pointreally hard, and not much fun at all. And then you find yourself asking if the goal is even worth the hassle. Maybe youre in a Dipa temporary setback that will get better if you keep pushing. But maybe its really a Cul-de-Sac, which will never get better, no matter how hard you try. According to bestselling author Seth Godin, what really sets superstars apart from everyone else is the ability to escape dead ends quickly, while staying focused and motivated when it really counts. Winners quit fast, quit often, and quit without guiltuntil they commit to beating the right Dip for the right reasons. In fact, winners seek out the Dip. They realize that the bigger the barrier, the bigger the reward for getting past it. If you can become number one in your niche, youll get more than your fair share of profits, glory, and long-term security. Losers, on the other hand, fall into two basic traps. Either they fail to stick out the Dipthey get to the moment of truth and then give upor they never even find the right Dip to conquer. Whether youre a graphic designer, a sales rep, an athlete, or an aspiring CEO, this fun little book will help you figure out if youre in a Dip thats worthy of your time, effort, and talents. If you are, The Dip will inspire you to hang tough. If not, it will help you find the courage to quitso you can be number one at something else. Seth Godin doesnt claim to have all the answers. But he will teach you how to ask the right questions.

  • Tread lightly with this book

I loved The Dip. Too much. Now I want to quit my job and get serious about owning my life when it comes to work. Great motivator and really reflects across many avenues of life outside of a job as well. It's a quick read so, if you're looking for a deep, reflective page turner, I'd go pick up Game of Thrones or something. This is to the point, get off your butt, kind of stuff.

  • Phenomenal - Insightful - Hits the Spot!

This book is a Hit You Over the Head - In Your Face - but in a "subtle way" - yes an oxy-moron - about when to make changes in your life and when to stay out. The concept of strategic quitting resonated with me like no other motivational concept on career or life ever has. Perfect for the skeptics – great for the positive thinkers – and perhaps even palatable for those cynics – we all know. Godin offers a fresh way to look at life and its perplexing, heavy decisions. And the true benefit – learning in under two hours. This book can be read in under two hours – still you will want to keep it!

  • Do Read!

Great book. Awesome content. Some phrasing was confusing buy was cleared upon a second look. If you apply the content from this book into your life, you will be happy. This is a very quick read. I read this book, out loud, in less than two hours.

  • Are You Prepared to Face The Dip?

The Dip has a lot of food for thought. We all reach that point where we get to The Dip, so do you stick it out, do you quit? Should you quit? Are you stuck and see you're not going anywhere? Seth Godin says, "The essential thing to know about The Dip, is that it's there. Knowing that you're facing a Dip is the first step in getting through it." He emphasises throughout the book, if you can't make it through The Dip, don't start. But he also states, "It's not enough to survive your way through The Dip. You get what you deserve when you embrace The Dip and treat it like the opportunity that it really is." So, I guess, what I got from the book is, know your limits, but don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. And if you do, be prepared to meet The Dip, decide before hand if ...
