These 57 radio performances begin, fittingly, with Crosby's career-defining rendition of Swinging on a Star on the Kraft Music Hall show in 1944, and include such dream finds for Crosby collectors as Bing's performance of It's Magic, his only version of the song ever released, and renditions of My Foolish Heart and for You, for Me, Forever More. Enjoyable Compilation of Bing's Radio Performances
Swingin' With Bing! is an enjoyable three-CD compilation of several performances from Crosby's radio shows. The tracks flow together nicely and partner Bing with such great talents as Nat "King" Cole, the Andrews Sisters, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, the Mills Brothers, Jack Teagarden, and Joe Venuti. There are a lot of very good songs on these discs, and Bing's radio renditions tend to be more relaxed and fun than his studio recordings. While these three CDs will give you a taste of what Bing's radio programs were like, Swingin' With Bing! doesn't include much of the entertaining banter and skits which are frequently the most memorable segments on the shows. I recommend also purchasing Crosby's old radio shows, which are available on CD in MP3 format from a variety of sellers on ... I love Bing Crosby and this is the best CD set I've found! Informative and entertaining! The booklet inside has plenty of pictures and full history of the American Crooner.
