    Doesn't Allow Playlists On External Memory

    Good: Sound quality Ok: Battery life Bad: Can't have playlists on external memory Through the purchase of device and research, I have discovered that ALL SanDisk Sansa Clip Zips do not allow playlists on the external memory (microSD card). Unless one wants to search for music via artist, album, or genre only, this mp3 player is more or less a glorified shuffle device. One can have playlists on the internal memory, but the music must be stored there and not on the external memory. With 8GB (actually less) of internal memory, those interested in transferring multiple playlists from Windows Media Player, itunes, Media Monkey, Media Go, etc., will be severely disappointed. I tried Rockbox, but was still unable to have playlists on the external memory; plus, the tiny print did me no favors. ...

    Best mp3 player ever... for music, audiobooks, language lessons and podcasts

    I have tried other brands and other Sansa models, including the newer ones. The Clip Zip is far and above the best. Loading it is as easy as connecting it to my computer and dragging my mp3 files into the correct folder. It works great with a 16 GB micro SD card for a total of 24 GB of space. The battery lasts for hours of listening. I especially like the image display. It gives me a quick and easy way to know what album the song is from without having to read the text. I also like the different playback options. I can play or shuffle all songs from an artist, album, or genre. I put my audiobooks in the Audiobooks folder, and they show up correctly in the Audiobooks menu. Same for podcasts and language lessons (I put them in the Podcast folder). It always saves my place in the audiobook, ...

    Love it - Well worth the $$

    I bought this item to use when practicing belly dance because my old one pooped out on me. It is super small which I love, and it has a clip so I don't need a pocket to use it, just hook it to my hip scarf and off I go. I put all my music in there (about 15 albums worth) in less than ten minutes, and found it very easy to do using the basic instructions. The sound is great, though if you are a 'jammer' you might not be delighted with the max volume (my old MP3 was considerably louder - but I never needed that much volume anyway so this is perfect for me).

    Awesome mp3 with many great features

    Comparing this player to the first gen clip I find the only drawback is it is harder to power on/off, and requires a bit longer to start up which I believe is due to loading the content. It requires holding the button down longer to power off, and having to watch the screen to make sure it does power off. I do like the ease of the lock, and still allowing to change the volume after locking the other control butttons. The first gen players had an issue with the headphone plug coming out of the jack easily, and this has been corrected with the plug now snapping into the jack. I would prefer the ability of removing the bigger stronger pocket clip, but I can live with that. Overall this is a great little player and I would recomend it to any one wanting to take their library of tunes with ...

    Ok product for the money.

    Pro's- very small, lightweight, fairly simple to operate, decent sound and volume from supplied ear pieces, good battery life so far. (Mine is a factory refurb) Con's- mine shipped w/o instructions and the earpiece plug is extremely hard to plug into the device so initially I thought mine was broken. I got mine working by reading about the well documented problem online. Mine will often quit playing and require a reset process to turn back on. (This is annoying but now that I know how to reset it, it's not too big a deal (remember, I did not receive any instructions so I had to learn everything from people on the internet). I got mine fairly cheap compared to other similar products so I guess even with the problems I've had, it's still a decent product for the money. If trouble free ...
