Interesting Story of an Offworld Dystopic Society
Peter Weller was great as RoboCop. Here, he plays a similar role as commander of a military unit on one side of a war between two earth alliances vying for economic control of scarce resources in outer space. A weapon created by his side is out of control and evolving. The ending is both surprising, sad and ironic. That's all you get from me. It's worth buying if you can get it for around 10.00 and a valuable addition to your SciFi collection.Peter Weller was great as RoboCop. Screamers
It is 2078 on the war torn planet of Sirius 6B, and the man-eating minimonsters created by Commander Hendrickson (Peter Weller) to fight off the New Economic Block have now become the biggest obstacle to a cease-fire. Hendrickson and his battle-hardened companion, Jennifer Rubin, have to cross a no-man land of desert that is occupied by the death dealing minimonsters he created. Peter Weller does his best work in Sci-fi futuristic movies (Robocop 1 & 2, Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai, Odessey 5, etc.) and does a good job here as does his fighting sidekick (Rubin). This movie was adapted from a short story by Dan O Bannon who wrote ALIEN. This is Christian Dugay s first and only attempt at directing - and the effort is worthwhile. Good for a nights entertainment, especially if you like ... Excellent, classic Sci-Fi with a great storyline and plenty of action.
Top notch, classic Sci-Fi, this movie had a decent budget and the special effects are excellent for an older film. If you like Sci-Fi then you will love this movie, it has excellent characters a good story line and plenty of action. Screamers is yet another example of human technology that gets out of hand, turning on it's creators.

Great vid
Good movie. I'm a Peter Weller fan and he acts well in this one. The story is engaging also.

Above average for it's time
Bit of a throw back. Movie is supposed to take place in the future, I forget the year, one of the marines whips out his sony discman to listen to some music. Thought that was funny. The movie was enjoyable, nothing spectacular, but certainly believable. Take it for what it is, a good, not t cheasy, sci-fi flick from the 90's. If you liked Alien, Total Recall, movies along those lines, you'll enjoy this flick. If your looking for a Star Wars type movie, not the movie for you.Bit of a throw back.
