Good working tool. Some differences from industry tools I've used
This tool seems to function as it should in general and the quality seems decent. Two issues I have with it however. First, the body of the tool is all green, not grey on one side and green on the other as pictured! When doing many punches on a larger job, it is nice to have the varied color on the tool so you can visually know which side the "cut" will be...assuming you learn to keep the green or grey side pointed up/down/left/right or whatever. The other issue is that this unit had some friction fitting into the Cat5e modular jacks that I was terminating some cable runs into. I've not used this type of jacks before with any punch tools so maybe that is the way it fits, but the tool did not easily slide free of the jack once I'd made the punch down. Re-Wired my NID
I used the tool to switch my land line phone service from a very noisy line to one of the other 5 lines that go into my house from the Network Interface Device (NID). The job required punching down cross connector wires onto a half-dozen 66 Block terminals. The tool handled that task easily. By doing the work myself, I probably saved a couple hundred dollars that an electrician would have charged. The tool's $9.50 cost was much less than other's I had priced elsewhere. It's OK...
The product is worth what I paid for it. Though there are definitely better products which do cost more - you know "you get what you pay for". So it depends on your usage... ok for little use, but not for everyday use in my opinion. With that said the product works as intended to an extent. It will punch down, but the blade seems to thickwide and I switch to using my small screw driver so not to damage punch down areas on the block. When I did use it, it did not cut the excess wire off, so I had to use my blade to finish cut the wires. Also contacted seller about item not having an end cap and seller was courteous and explained that the item does not have an end cap; that spare blade is held in with tension... it did pop out a couple times while punching. Great punch down at a great price
I have only been using this on cat5e stranded and cat 6 solid copper cable. it works well. usually does its job on the first strike versus repeated punches. I would recommend.

Exactly what I was looking for
I was looking for an inexpensive punchdown tool that would take standard blades and tried this one. Weight is good, click is smooth. I've already recommended it to coworkers
