A nice rack but the attachment mechanism could be improved.
This product did not fit my Passat as I had hoped it would. There are side channels on the roof of this car and I had hoped the rack would have pads that fit into these channels but they did not. I tried to adjust the clamp and the ratchet did not work, it just moved in and out. I then turned the strap over and I could tighten it but not loosen it. I decided even though I liked the price, the rack just wasn't what I had hoped for and returned it. The good news is that I received a full refund with no charges so I felt good about it and just regret that the fit wasn't quite what I'd hoped for.This product did not fit my Passat as I had hoped it would. Long-distance travel
The product fit my 2003 Hyundai Elantra, but not in between the rain gutters. It is a bit larger than I would like. One of the locking parts unlocked somehow before I drove off. However, I drove 4 days in all types of weather with this product and it held up. I used a soft body car topper attached to the crossbars. It's an okay product, it seems mass produced and has an intoxicating smell of plastic. The product fit my 2003 Hyundai Elantra, but not in between the rain gutters. It is full of problematic malfunctions. All it needs is solutions!
It said in instructions preassembled,not. I t appears to be of great quality,possibly. Instructions on how to lock alluded my limited mental capacity and I, like the keys are stuck at a crossroad and I may have broken a ratcheting mechanism as instructions warned. I ordered it for a 2008 Prius yet I got extra anchors for an unknown vehicle, I need dummy proof! Please read and comprehend all of the instructions and it is possible you will succeed with assembly and installation on your first attempt. If it takes two or more attempts it is ok. Great value
Great value for money. Quality better than expected. Instructions a little vague but that was an easy fix with Youtube videos on installation. Lock mechanism is a little fussy but price more than makes up for this little inconvenience. I bought a used Kayak for $100 so spending $400 on racks didn't make any sense. Fits quite well on my 2015 Prius, some noise vibration over 55 mph but it just sounds like a low hum not very annoying. Did not notice any gas mileage change but just put them on last week, I will only use them only on camping excursions then remove them when back home, so no problem there. Great value for money. Nice Racks for the Money!!
Better Than Expected but you probably will need to find a YOUTUBE Video to help understand how to install and operate. The instructions are worthless -don't even tell you how to release the locking mechanism to get them off the car...I tried everything! Then I found a video that explained several things not covered in the instructs. Just be prepared for very low budget parts that should be made of better materials but will work when assembled correctly. I put these on a 2014 Prius but there is a lot of adjustments and length to the ratchet assembly so I would think these will fit a ton of cars. I don't think any of the exposed shiny metal is true stainless steel so will only put them on when using them otherwise rust could be a problem here at the beach. The crossbars are real nice and ...
