Quick and Easy
When I first saw Spitballs advertised I thought, "why in the world would anybody buy those things". But, over the past six months I kept running across them on eBay and I found myself becoming more and more curious about them. They are really inexpensive so I decided to order a jar. I'm really glad I did! I thought that I kept the inside of my trumpet pretty clean. However, the first Spitball that I blew through my horn came out partially coated with black residue.....disgusting! I gave my trumpet a THOROUGH cleaning and I have been using Spitballs every time I play. They are quick and easy to use. After playing I simply insert a Spitball into the lead pipe and with a gentle blow, it exits through the bell. I repeat the process 2-3 times. Spitballs absorb excess moisture (spit) and ... Never used before, but surprisingly pleased.
I loaded the first "Spitball: into my lead pipe and was very worried that it would hang up somewhere in my trumpet. but it came shooting out of the other end with molto force. I examoned it when I got it out of the book shelf on the other side of the room and it had indeed cleaned out some stuff from my horn. I only had to do it twice more before it came out clean. I had, sfter all, just deep cleaned my trumpet some three weeks before. I highly recommend this product as it is something that can be done from time to time to keep horn really clean all along as one uses their horn. I think I should buy a bunch of this stuff. Easy and Effective
Once a week keeps my horns clean inside. No need to wash and scrub. I do recommend brushing and flossing your teeth before playing to keep debris out. I buy and sell horns from time to time, and after the usual washing and scrubbing of a used trombone I had just acquired, I blew a Herco Spitball through the horn. I had never before seen anything like the horrible mess that came out! I ended up using 3/4 of the jar of Spitballs before one came out clean. When Herco says that their product removes what others leave behind, believe them!Once a week keeps my horns clean inside. No need to wash and scrub. Great product!
Used these for the first time in 7th grade band on my student cornet back in 1976. The first wad I blew through the horn produced a small stamped metal slug and the "spitball" was completely black once it came out of the cornet. Been sold on them ever since.

Great product
Used this forty years ago in Highschool. Started playing the trumpet again and went out to see if they were still available. Very glad they did. A really good product.
