    Keener's Commentary

    Origionally, I bought Keener's Bible Background Commentary because it was required text for a class. While reading this book alongside the Bible and using it to study the Bible, I was so impressed I decided not to sell this book once the class finishes. This commentary helps explain the cultural background of the Bible. When you read a passage and have no idea why a comment was nesessary or what a specific phrase means, you can look up those verses in this commentary and find out how that phrase relates to the culture specifically at the time that book of the Bible was written. This is extremely handy for studying the Bible. Overall, Keener was clear and concise in his writing. I would recomend this commentary to anyone who wants to go more indepth in the text of the Bible.

    Best commentary on NT times

    This is a valuable Bible commentary on the background of the New Testament. I owned one of the earliest copies in 1993 but sadly gave it away for lack of space. We just started listening to C. Keener on You Tube and decided we needed to buy another one to study with. I highly recommend this to anyone studying the NT and anyone interested in learning the actual day to day lives of those who lived during the days of Christ on earth. Keener is one of the world's most prolific writer on Bible NT topics today especially writers like Paul the Apostle. You won't be sorry you invested in this tome and the time to read it. A great work!

    Very Good Commentary

    Outstanding support for bible study material. A true Bible student should have this commentary in the arsenal of Bible study tools. You will be very please because the material explains the world to whom the message was written to.
