Product Information

Building on the groundwork established with NHL 08, NHL 09 offers enhancements and new features designed to improve on its critically acclaimed predecessor. Emphasis is placed on the defensive game for this version, with the right analog "skill stick" used to block passing lanes and lift a rival's stick to disrupt potential one-timers. Other key additions include one-handed dekes, revamped physics-based checking and fighting, and an option to control the game using only two buttons and the left analog stick. A new role-playing mode entitled "Be A Pro" focuses on a single athlete as you attempt to guide your alter ego from his start in the AHL to a star-caliber career in the NHL. A third-person perspective on the ice brings you closer to the action as you monitor your athlete's progress in over 50 categories.

    NHL 09 PC

    This game is a great edition to the EA NHL series. One thing that I noticed right off the bat is the fact that it doesn't have nearly as many features on it as the Xbox or PS3 versions. Examples of this are; 1. the "shootout mode" in the PC version is quite disapointing after playing the Xbox version with a friend. 2. the graphics are not at the same level as the consle versions. For some people this is not a big deal (like myself). 3. There is a lot of recycled sentences and phrases in this game that have been used now for the past 5 or 6 years. This can be very, very annoying at times. It seems like EA is only working on improving the Xbox and PS3 games. For gameplay, it is as good but it is sometimes not as responsive as I would have liked. That is where it hasn't improved. ...

    nhl 09

    This game is good but is has some bugs in it. there is no replay adjustment so you get sick of wqtching replays of worthless events. And also no matter what quarter length you set it always changes to 20 min quarters which makes for a long game. But other than that it is really fun game anf it is pretty stable on my dell computer . I would recommend buying it but only for cheap like 20 dollars or under cuz EA doesn't support it anymore.

    NHL 09 for PC

    Great game play, but slightly buggy. i would suggest add-ons from hockeydownloads.com to correct jersey errors and rosters, as EA-Sports does not support this game for PC at all. Only real set back are the lousy graphics and lack of features when comparing it to the ps3 or 360 version, this game is a PS2 port. Be A Pro mode and Dynasty modes are extremely sweet, and the new season mode is also a great addition to this version. This is definitely the best PC hockey game you can get, and you might as well, EA announced that version 10 will NOT be available for PC users!!!!

    NHL 09 PC, Get if for XBOX 360 over PC

    I first played this game on xbox 360 and I loved it,so i decided to buy it for the computer since I don't own a 360 and was juts playing at my girlfriends house. I found this game on ebay for cheap so I got it, and I just got it today. Overall, I'm not impressed. The gameplay is weird on the pc, I didn't like using the keyboard, the keys are too small and a controller is much easier for sports games. The graphics were lacking too, it seemed like they were 5 years out dated and not nearly as nice as the 360. I'm sure if I get better the game will be more fun, but its looking like it won't live up to its xbox 360 cousin. If you got the previous nhl games and liked them, i'm sure you'll love this game. Or if you want to try it out for like $10 i'd say go for it.

    NHL 2009 Review

    Awesome game for NHL fanatics. The game is full of new and exciting features. The graphics are good, but not great, and sometimes it can rum slow. Overall, it is a good game and well worth the price.
