  • Good and Durable. But little bit old.

The good: The Palm Treo 700wx offers more available memory than Verizon's version, the 700w. The Windows Mobile smart phone also has integrated Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel camera, and EV-DO support. The bad: The Palm Treo 700wx lacks integrated Wi-Fi and retains the low-resolution 240x240-pixel display. The bottom line: The Palm Treo 700wx brings some needed improvements to the Windows Mobile smart phone, such as more memory, but it's still far from perfect. Review: We're not sure if you've heard, but Sprint is getting its own version of the Palm Treo 700w. OK, we say this with a bit of sarcasm as the specs, the images, heck, even the user manual were leaked all over the Web. But now we can say officially that the Palm Treo 700wx for Sprint is here. The Windows Mobile-based Treo offers a ...

  • Palm Treo Pro

I bought my first Palm Treo many years ago. It was the 600. Although there were things I liked about the 600, it had very poor bluetooth features. I tried no less than eight different bluetooth headsets with the 600 and none worked well so I finally decided to change phones and bought a Blackberry Curve 8330. I don't think I have ever had a phone that I disliked more than the Blackberry. I had to hard reset the phone at least twice a day! After two years of cursing the Blackberry, I went back to the Treo and purchased the Treo Pro. I have only had the phone for a few weeks now, but I am very happy with it. The bluetooth issues with the 600 seem to have been addressed. My Jawbone headset and the car kit seem to work fine. The new Windows Mobile software gives you a comfortable at ...

  • The Palm Treo Pro (Sprint Edition)

The Palm Treo Pro is a decent smartphone. My primary reason for owning it is that it would save on getting a GPS. It is one of the only devices I know of that have a true GPS system, unlike others (including the Pre) that have aGPS, or GPS based on cellular towers. Palm ditched support for Windows Mobile 6.5, so we're stuck with 6.1 on this device. Windows 6.1 Professional is decent and it does most of what I need well. The only real issues is that Pocket Internet Explorer is very, very slow on this device (I have none other to compare to) and the Treo Pro is heavily underpowered in the RAM department with only ~40MB available. When it comes to the design, it is essentially the Treo merged with the Centro. The keys are nearly the same and the cover pops off in the same manner...Just ...

  • Oldie and goodie with features new phones can't touch-road warrior approved

If you are a Palm fan, or are just dragging your feet switching to windows/droid/etc, the palm 850w will help you get over the hump and do it with features the new kids wish THEY had. Most of the familiar Palm features are there: the PDA, Sync, even the icon navigation is all old school, even if the Windows naming conventions throw you a little. Yes, Win6.1 Pro is a little slow, but not enough to matter if you are only checking flights or email and aren't browsing graphic-heavy sites a lot. The candy bar layout is tough and durable, no weird sliding joints to break. If you get a hard case and make any effort to protect the screen, you will never break this thing. I've beaten the crap out of mine and it still chugs along. The keyboard is small but very easy to use. If you had a Centro, it ...

  • Love my 700wx!

I'm no techie.. this is a low tech review. Have had the Treo 700wx on the Sprint Network for almost 2 years. I bought it used and haven't looked back. This phone is easy to figure out, doesn't have those annoying 'rolling screen' probs that plague other phones, and despite my low-tech knowledge I use this phone to its fullest capabilities. Love the accessibility of the keyboard, adore the the voice command that speaks when I get a phone call. I get a kick out of hearing the phone proclaim "Phone call from "Dave" at work" whenever someone calls me. I use the internet on the phone daily and it is fast and easy to manuever. I have my Outlook synched up with it, and I get my messages with ease. Swithing between text and email is super easy. I don't need to pay for Sprint Naviagtion cuz the ...
