28 days later/ 28 weeks later
The movie was alright. When watching the movie you'd think what you would have done. Clearly those aspects of the movie have been over looked. A outbreak of a disease is spread throughout London and infects people. The people who are in infect turned into zombies. The people who are not infected are trying to survive. At certain points in the movie make no since...unless the guy is suppose to be dumb. He wakes up from a coma and theres nobody around. Everyone has evacuated, died, or is trying to survive. He goes into a church...clearly you would know after walking around the empty streets something is wrong. He's all yelling in the street saying hello...i thought that was dumb. Well he entered the church were there's what looks like dead people. He says "hello" and you see the couple dead ... The movie was alright. It is some what frustrating seeing him like that but towards the middle and end its different. Other than that parts its seemed good. 28weeks later picks up as the US army gets involved. Starts to give aid to those that survived. It makes you think can this sort of thing happen?

The Disease-Ridden, Flesh-Eating Rage Zombies return in '28 Weeks Later', but this time in an Apocolyptic Thriller that pits "Rage-Zombies" - VS - Innocent People and the might of U.S. Armed Forces. "28 Days Later" Director Danny Boyle and that movie's screenwriter Alex Garland serve as Executive Producers this time around. After a short prologue that sets up star Robert Carlyle as the type of spineless jerk he plays so well, the movie offers a short history of the 'Rage Virus' and how it turned its victims into Cannibalistic Zombies. Now 6 months after the first outbreak, the afflicted have apparently all starved to death. London is nearly a ghost town, the few survivors herded into a "Safe Zone". The American military is occupying the country, charged with keeping it safe as it attempts ... Airplanes are flying in again, but instead of depositing business travelers and vacationers, the passengers are refugees returning from abroad. Teenage Tammy (Imogen Poots) and tween Andy (Mackintosh Muggleton) are among the latest repatriates, the first children to arrive and the only children in all of London. The kids reunite with their father, Don (Carlyle), the Zone's Chief Electrician, but it is not a totally happy reunion. Not only does he inform them that Mom's dead, but also they have barely become a family again before "Rage Strikes Again". Chief Medical Officer Scarlet (Rose Byrne) expresses concern at the children's arrival, certain that London is not yet ready to have the young ones added to the population. The prediction proves to be right in more ways than one, since the 'Rage-Virus' implodes the heart of the Safe Zone. The U.S. Army does not fool around, adopting a kill anything that moves attitude. 'Zombies' are unleashing and Tammy and Andy's worries skyrocket (with the rest of Rebuilding London) as they flee through the city streets. Bullets, firebombs, and chemical weapons erupting in every corner of every scene. A full-fledged Apocolypse-Battle is in-full engagement. While some snivelling minots want to draw inferences to this symbolizing 'The War in Iraq' and an oppressive America (IDIOTS).... if Director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and his Co-Screenwriters Rowan Joffe and Jesus Olmo intended this as some sort of veiled critique of American Imperialism it fails. Fresnadillo simply wants to blow up things real good and that he does; for the sake of action-pulsing nightmarish horror/slaughter — the firebombing of London is extremelly impressive with flames filling City Streets and shooting up through the buildings. (Wildly Impressive Cinematography). There are elements of the original '28 Days Later' that survive: shots of an eerily empty London and the quick, chaotic editing. But unlike the first film, '28 Weeks Later' poses a new phase on what may turn into a 'Rage-Zombie' franchise? - As George A Romero started in his 'Zombie' franchise; "Rage" now sets the challenge and irony of "What can stop the Virus; but "Rage Itself"?? Good Film -- SEE THIS !!!!

a new twist on zombies?, high speed ragers
excellent to me because i love this genre, if you don't like stupid horror movies thats fine, but these two are a real upgrade... i prefer the second one more, despite IMDB scores for both differing from me... (not much SPOILER ALERT stuff below, i wrote it below in a way to get you to watch the movies and see what i mean... but i may ruin the ends of both movies as to tone and what happens on a positive/negative note!!!!)... the final scene of 28 weeks communicates a ruthless merciless rigor FAR different than the first one, perhaps as apocalyptic and end times as you can get... with great scenery to match... the two endings of these movies are in quite stark contrast... (and if you really love the joy of horror flicks you might laugh at the end of the second movie as i did...)(when NONE ... excellent to me because i love this genre, if you don't like stupid horror movies thats fine, but these two are a real upgrade... i prefer the second one more, despite IMDB scores for both differing from me... I found it interesting that the only thing ever said by any of the rager zombie virus spreaders was "I HATE YOU!", by the little kid in the first one that got the babe ruth treatment to the head with a bat... (maybe with kids its different? you can only speak at the very early stages of getting the virus, within a few minutes (more like seconds!) your IQ drops and your rage quotient shoots through the roof... As much as I AM LEGEND should have been a nice new techy upgrade with a nice budget it over did the CGI virus rage zombies, too super humanish... these two movies are much more down to earth and real, and as far as the zombie lore witticism is concerned: you don't have to shoot them in the head, but thats a great place to start! One of the best chase scenes ever in any movie i've seen was in 28 weeks (to the dock on the river with a boat... the droning guitar dirge negatively buzzing its funeral rhythm was a great sound track match for this movie... chase scene included... george romero in an interview talked about a bumper sticker: FAST ZOMBIES SUCK indeed!, maybe as a method of the zombie genre and movie making and FOR REAL (when this all goes down of course...)(even so my favorite zombie flick of many i've seen so far is DAWN OF THE DEAD (remake, 2004)(fast zombies here as well...) - ZOMBIELAND does justice to the off shoot of the zombie genre (the zomedy), but i'd still put SHAUN OF THE DEAD at the top... the Bill Murray cameo is quite funny in zombieland... alright you crazy zombie loving freaks, ENJOY! (come on now, you really want all that pretentious upper class pompous stylish vampire esthetic to ruin real horror?! zombies are it, hands down! also, (THE WALKING DEAD, very highly recommended "comic" medium of zombie storylines... in fact its the best i've read so far...

28 Weeks Later Mini Review (No Spoilers)
This is the sequel of the movie "28 days later" which takes as 6 months after the first one. All the infected have died of starvation and London is beginning to repopulate. Again something goes wrong and everybody is running for their lives. This is pretty much the synopsis of the movie. The scenery (central London) is nice and special effects are ok also. The movie has nothing more to show you than the first one and it is not a movie that you are going to remember for more than a week. If you like gore, blood and splatter then this movie is for you. If you want a plot, some descent acting and a good script then see something else. Surely not a movie to buy but a movie to rent when you are with your friends. 28 Days Carries 28 Weeks!!
28 Weeks later had some big shoes to fill as 28 days later was excellent. There's not many movies that come out that I take the time and money to actually go see in a theater but this one was an exception. I left feeling like I had gotten my moneys worth as was the general consensus of those I went with. I didn't like the whole repopulating the City theme or the whole quarantined/non-cleared area issues. They would have been better off in my opinion having had successfully shut off the affected area from the rest of the world for the 28 weeks and then to have the infection suddenly leak out and begin to spread outward again. Perhaps the producers of 28 months Later (if possible) will read this and get back to what was great about 28 days later. By the way how the heck did 2 kids ... 28 Weeks later had some big shoes to fill as 28 days later was excellent. And why would they take the risk of repopulating areas of the city so soon and so close to areas not cleared. Seems to me they would have treated that area like it had been hit with an atomic bomb!
