Product Information

Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit allows you to run from the law or play as the law. Thirteen sports cars are included to choose from. If those are not enough you will be able to download new cars from the Electronic Arts website as they become available.<br><br>Race through eight different tracks, as well as a bonus track, while avoiding the police. To help you avoid the police you have a radio that allows you to eavesdrop. When playing the part of the police your car options are limited to a 98 Corvette or Lamborghini Diablo. As the police officer you can drop spike belts and smash into other cars while attempting to pull over speeders. <br><br>Modes of play include: sinlge race, hot pursuit, tournament, knockout, and multiplayer. Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit's Internet play allows up to eight players to join a race. Players can divide into two groups of four with one group playing as the police and the other as the law breakers.

    Need for Speed III: Awesome Game!

    This game is cool because of its many game modes. One can play with by himself or play with other people. There is a 2-player mode where two players can play using one computer and one keyboard. There is also a multiplayer mode where several people can play using more than one computer. The Hot Pursuit mode is great! The player can either be chased by the police or he can be the police. Other modes include Knockout and Tournament. There is a replay feature where a player can save replays of his races and then view those replays from several different angles. Even though this is an older game the graphics are still pretty good. I would recommend this game for people who enjoy racing and police chase games.

    15 years and I still love and play these older nfs games

    I have most of these need for speed games and run them on a variety of os win 98, xp even this old game on a newer i7-2600 running win7 with 27" aoc LCD. it loaded and ran just like old times but with faster loads and highest settings. For this old of game do not expect the grahpics to be up to modern standards but they still look great. You sould just race anyway, if you look at the trees you crash.

    Newer Version

    While this EA video game was orginally written to work with Windows 98, a 32 bit operating system, this paticular release was done in 2002 and the seller advertized it would work with XP which it did. XP is a 32 bit OS but built on NTFS rather than the FAT32. I wasn't sure the game would run but took a chance and was pleased with the results. It also ran on my Vista Ultimate gaming machine!! I chose this one over the other ones on auction because the others did not appear to be the "updated" versions. The sellers informaive description made the difference.

    Don't know yet? it too old for Vista!! OPPs!!

    The series is the greatest thing to hit a PC. This one is older but my kid wanted it so I tried it...All PCs in the house are Vista and it will not play in compatibility mode. We will put it on an older machine someday and then we will see. We own all the others so trust me, it is a good generic pill for the need for speed!! Definitely to old for vista! And it is hard to play on XP even...so we just don't play it...Sorry folks...we lost interest in attempting to get it going. Not mad though...it was a fair purchase, and easy going with seller...so we just research harder next time!!

    Oldie, but awesome

    This game is over 12 years old, but still lots of fun to play. The graphics lag behind today's standards but do not get in the way of having a great time. Still working fine running Windows Vista, great game to play anytime.
