Product Information

Sony Europe's SingStar series returns to North American PS2s, turning the console into a karaoke machine stocked with hit songs from the decade that saw the country embrace the sing-it-yourself trend in the first place. In SingStar games, players sing along with famous songs into a microphone, as a timing graphic moves across the screen and the lyrics appear below. Software analyzes their voices to judge their accuracy in timing and pitch.<br> <br>The software allows for solo performances as well as duets, when two microphones are connected. The selection of songs and styles is nearly as varied as the Top 40 charts of the era; highlights include the B-52's "Love Shack," Baby Got Back" from Sir Mix A Lot, and "Wannabe" from the Spice Girls, as well as selections from All Saints, M.C. Hammer, Nirvana, Radiohead, R.E.M., and Seal. A total of 30 songs are available, each with its original music video. Players with an EyeToy (or other USB camera) can choose to display themselves on screen instead.

    Track list leaves a lot to be desired; still good game

    If you are a hardcore SingStar fan, then this is a must buy. However, if you are the casual karaoke fan who likes to belt out a few songs at a party, then this might leave you asking where other 90's hits are at. The set list contains great songs from the 90's, but there seems to be great hits of the 90's being left out like Whitney Houston "I Will Always Love You", U2 "One", Pearl Jam "Jeremy", Third Eye Blind "Semi-Charmed Life", and the list could go on. At first I thought I couldn't live with out it, but after putting it in the PS2, there is not many songs that I want to sing like SingStar Pop or SingStar Amped. I still think it is a great game to have in your karaoke library.

    Really fun game!

    We use this game as a motivational tool in my classroom (I teach 6th grade), we study lyrics of songs as poetry and for reading fluency, this game is the reward at the end of the week and even my RSP students with certain special needs participate and get encouraged by the class....great game, great tool...a lot of fun...

    mikes and games great value and have great features

    the mikes and games work great I am able to play the singstar games again and I am really enjoying them

    Thank u! It came about 7 hours earlier then expected. It also works well on the Ps3. So overall love this game and a lot of the songs on it.

    Great product but short list of songs

    I enjoy this game very much but it would be good to have more tracks on it......They don't have to all be "major" hits. It would be good to have more songs to choose from by both male and female artists.....and specifically duets. I love to compete with against my girlfriend with this game series. And having another couple over makes this even more fun. would definately recommend but would buy more from the series if there was more content.
