This Infinity Ward follow-up to 2003's critically acclaimed Call of Duty pushes farther across the European Theatre of World War II, with missions spanning the desert fighting in North Africa to the tank assaults on the Russian front. The sequel boasts graphical enhancements and significant improvements to artificial intelligence. Computer-controlled teammates act and react individually, and the game's contextual "battle chatter" system lets players know exactly what's on their minds. Enemy squads are likely to have learned a few new tricks as well. The game's single-player campaign is designed to allow individual players to progress through the missions in the order they prefer.     Lacks in-game special features.

    The game Call of Duty 2 deserves 5. So why the 4 rating for the collectors edition? With the great content of the game you would expect that the special edition would come come with equally spectaclar bonus features. Unfortunatly Cod2 is slightly dissapointing in this regard. While it does have veteran reviews, select level walkthroughs, an account of the Point du Hoc assault, and a production art gallery, it has no in-game bonus features whatsoever. It would be really cool if the collectors edition came with extra weapons or multiplayer maps. The collectors edition is installed with only one DVD which is great for people who might lose one of the six cds that comes with the regular edition. The bottom line is that this is a great game that could use more bonus features.

    The BEST PC Game ever!

    I Have been playing a lot of different computer war games for years now and this game is the best ever. The single player campaigns are cool. But the Multiplayer online version is awesome, to say the least. There is a large variety of servers with an abundance of different maps and modded servers which give a variety of unpredictable game play. The multi player voice caht is awesome too. Setting up a server is fairly easy and there are some CLANS that operate their own servers and many players and members are nice and offer up information on technical issues that may trouble a beginer user. The problems are always small and simple. Mostly it is a learning experience. Without much difficulty I have figured out how the manipulate the original install of Call of duty 2 to upgrade the version ...

    Too Much of a Good Thing

    Call of Duty is one of my favorite games. It was great fun, and I really enjoyed the sense that you were part of a team. Call of Duty 2, hits all of the major points in checkbox fashion: superb graphics, realistic weapons, interesting scenarios, and lots of guys on your side fighting along with you. But somehow, it seems a little souless, a little too contrived; I never bought into the story like I did with Call of Duty 1. With Call of Duty 2, I felt like I was playing not WWII, but one of those arcade machines where you try to kill as many Aliens as you can before your tokens run out.
