Step back in time, into the era of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., with the movie 'Selma' on this Blu-ray/DVD combo. Dr. King, played by David Oyelowo, leads a campaign to get equal voting rights. As president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, he decided, early in 1965, that the group would focus its efforts on registering black voters in the South. Protesters attempting to march from Selma to Montgomery, the capital of Alabama, were attacked by local and state authorities. They finally completed the walk in three days in March under the protection of National Guard troops. The march became a civil rights victory when President Lyndon Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Phenomenal, Unforgettable and Heart Wrenching!
Heart-felt movie and in tune with the times; where divisiveness and hatred causes inhumanity. Dr. King's infidelity and wife's gradual forgiveness. Film not focused into all historical facts but OK. More about the SELMA INCIDENT and its aftermath. Acting superb and extraordinary! Truly entertaining and endearing! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Selma was a great movie. There were some very emotional scenes in the film, but there were scenes that didn't seem to be complete. It left me wanting more. It felt as though the movie was a bit rushed. My favorite part in the movie was when Dr. King was writing a letter to Coretta and he was smoking a cigarette. I loved this, because it showed us that he, too, had flaws, but was charged to lead the movement. Overall, it serves as a great supplementary piece in support of understanding the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the sole purpose of the Civil Rights movement. Davis was exceptional. There were times, when I actually though he was Dr. King. This is a great movie to watch with family and friends. It is definitely worthy of conversation.Selma was a great movie. The Movie Selma
I live about an hour from Selma in Alabama, and I watched part of it being filmed, so I wanted to own the movie. I enjoyed the movie very much and would imagine most people would too.
