Older Panasonic Lumix DMC digital cameras are a good value.
For a 10 year old camera, this takes really good pictures and decent videos. Panasonic used a proprietary USB cable to connect to a computer for viewing and transferring pictures, and this camera didn't come with any cables. It does have a mini HDMI port, which I tested by connecting to a computer monitor and it works fine. I already owned a similar camera (DMC-ZS5), so am familiar with all the features and controls, and have spare batteries and a charger. Oddly enough the USB cable for the ZS5 is different from the ZS6. Removing the SD card to transfer pictures and videos to a computer works fine, but is slower than using a USB cable, but that could be due to my old card reader.For a 10 year old camera, this takes really good pictures and decent videos. An awsome camera to carry in your pocket for beautiful quality photos.
I bought this camera for my Aunt as a smaller companion to her Canon DSLR. The zoom lens for her DSLR made the camera too heavy and this was the perfect alternative for wildlife pictures she needed to zoom in on. Pros: Small size. The camera takes beautiful pictures. So far we have only used the automatic setting, and have achieved great results. Most of the controls and menu options are easy to operate. One thing to keep in mind, is to let the camera frame the picture before pressing the shutter button, otherwise the picture will likely be blurred. Cons: The zoom would be easier to use if located on the back of the camera instead of around the shutter button, this is the main reason for my 4 star rating instead of 5. Oddie but Goodie
Focus is sometimes an issue as the camera seems to want to always return the last focus used even when the distance to the subject is remarkably different ( so way out of focus) upon restarting the camera. I like fact that many of the controls are the push button manual type versus screen driven menus.

Incredible Camera
By far the best "point and shoot" compact camera ever. The image quality is outstanding and the crystal clear optics are truly as advertised. Its perfect for eBay product images and amazing for all around photos, a real winner Beats many of the newer cameras for ease of use and picture perfect results.

Great zoom. Crisp, sharp, photo's and all in a small, solid package.
I purchased the ZS6 with the known quality of Panasonic and the exceptional Leica lens. A great lens is most important and often over looked. I had read many reviews and decided to give it a try and I have not been disappointed. I am mainly a point and shoot guy, so fits my needs well. I love the zoom and the overall size. Picture quality is Fabulous! Pictures are crisp, sharp and true to color. About the only thing I would change is the ability to Turn-On or over ride the flash while in auto mode (IA). Unable to do with this camera. But, it can be Turned-off in auto mode (IA). I've owned others, but the photo quality along with the easy to use features, makes this my overall favorite so far. I still like my Sony's with their Zeiss lens and would not own another Cannon as they have ... I purchased the ZS6 with the known quality of Panasonic and the exceptional Leica lens.
