Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, released in 1989, is the sequel to the Sega game, Ghost ‘n Goblins, which was released in 1985. Both games tell a modern tale of the classic Camelot, updated with early animated graphics from Japan. Follow along with the storyline started in the Goblins cartridge as the legend continues in this one, or just pick up where this new segment of the spooky legend starts. As you play these Sega games, you get to live out a lifelong fantasy of being a young King Arthur riding to the rescue of his sweet future queen Guinevere while decked out in a beautiful suit of armor. Battle all kinds of random ghouls, like demons, vultures, ghosts, goblins, skeletons, flaming werewolves, and treacherous poisonous flowers in the quest to set the lovely princess free from the grips of the evil King Loki in these games. In the Ghouls ‘n Ghosts game version for Sega Genesis, you start the adventure having a picnic in a graveyard with Guinevere when she gets kidnapped by King Loki. As you start to play the game, you embark on the adventure with a sword and you have opportunities to find other weaponry along the way, including a dagger, fire water, and a discus. You’ll need to find other weapons before the final stages of the Sega version of Ghouls ‘n Ghosts game that happens in the Castle of Evil Demons, because after your long search, you have to be prepared, plus you need to play well. King Loki and a giant bee fight hard to preserve their captive, and they are tough to beat, so beware. Ghouls ‘n Ghosts games have a rating of E for everyone, and there is some animated violence as Arthur works his way through the quest to find his lady love. A staple for your library
Arguably the three most recognized ports of this game rest on the shoulders of the NES, SNES, and Genesis/Mega Drive. While the SNES may boast technical superiority over this title, and while this version may come with early release quality, debatably this is the better of all the variations. Smooth movement, multi directional aiming and a more faithful rendition of the arcade source material all come together to form an absolute must-have for your Sega library. There isn't much that could be said of Ghouls n Ghosts that hasn't been said before, if you've never played any if the adaptations before and you're looking to start, consider this the perfect beginning to your journey. Great game, i love the Ghouls n Ghosts franchise have almost every version, great game but a living nightmare when it comes to playing, plan on spending time on this it's not something you will finish quickly, in this case genius really does what Nintendon't

Ghouls N Ghosts: (Genesis)
This game is a great example of an arcade hit done right by the Sega Genesis system. Other titles include Altred beast, Golden Axe 1-2, Strider, and I will even include Double Dragon. While some games like Double Dragon weren't ecxacly perfect home conversions, Ghouls and Ghosts is a near perfect conversion! The gameplay is very similar if not the same as the arcade. The graphis again are identical maybe off by a hair. Over all if you are a fan of this series you may enjoy the added element of shooting vertically. This feature was not available in the original Ghouls and Goblins. This added feature really increases the playablility and enjoynment of this game!It is put to the test right away during your first boss fight! Really Great Game, Though Hard As Hell.
Ah, yes. Ghouls 'N Ghosts, the sequel to the awesome game Ghost 'N Goblins. You control Arthur, our protagonist knight, who, while having a picnic in a graveyard (who does that?), gets his girlfriend stolen by the devil himself, Lucifer (what a dick!). So you must battle through the various levels, fighting off undead spawn and trying to save the souls of the damned. Fun times. This game is really great. The music is awesome, the graphics are dark and spooky, really helping set the mood of the game. It controls very smoothly and easily. Arthur can pick up a variety of weapons throughout the game, all of them have their positives and negatives. While the game is great, I do have one complaint, and it's three words: Hard. As. F*CK! Seriously, this game is a bitch-kitty with it's difficulty. ... Ah, yes. Ghouls 'N Ghosts, the sequel to the awesome game Ghost 'N Goblins. Arthur can only get hit twice before he's done like dinner (the first hit causes him to lose his armour, redeucing him down to his skivvies, the second hit turns him into a skeleton and he dies. Obviously) To its credit, the game does allow you to fire in all directions, including while jumping, and there are some armour pick ups along the way, but be prepared to get Game Over a considerable amount of times before you start getting good at it. That all being said, once you do start to get good at it, this game is a blast. The spooky graphics will set the mood, the music is a pleasure for your ears, and there's just something very satisfying about throwing a spear through a walking skeleton. All and all, this is a really great game, and if you have an old Genesis laying around, definitely pick this game up, because the Genesis version is one of the best ports of this game. Final Score: 8.5/10

Ghouls N Ghosts
Ghouls n ghosts for sega Genesis is a port of the arcade game so it’s a bit rough around the edges. But it is good game. It’s hard though as it will beat you a lot. But there is checkpoints and unlimited continues. Highly recommend for sega collectors.
