The Sting is absolutely one of the very finest movies ever to come from Hollywood or anywhere else in the world for that matter. Robert Redford and Paul Newman are unforgettable in this once in a lifetime level of great achievement in truly remarkable roles they will be always remembered for. If you do not have The Sting in your movie collection you will be in an impoverished state of being in that you will miss out, have no doubts about that whatever! We paid $30 here for a retail copy before we discovered ebay and we didnt regret doing so! The tale is immensely clever and the plot awesome! You absolutely will not believe the curves thrown at you during the unfolding of this movie about con men with a heart taking on an Irishman with some character as well. The Sting -Newman, Redford, Shaw, Brennan
A movie can have terrific actors,scenery, special effects and still be lousy. A really good movie must have a great story. The Sting has a great story, the best of actors, really believable scenes and, as an added bonus, a unique sound track (the music of a relative unknown turn of the century song writer, Scott Joplin). Everything on the set is so time period appropriate that a great deal of time must have been spent researching the 1940's, a credit no doubt to the director. I defy anyone to dislike the Sting. I bought the HD DVD version and it was so crisp and clear that I feel my money was well spent. JLA movie can have terrific actors,scenery, special effects and still be lousy. A good movie for rainy day !
This movie with all of it twists and turns was ok. Since I am not a Robert Redford fan and i think movie would have been just as good with anybody in it. Also the music was ok but personally not big fan of it. I know this movie pushing 40yrs and still people think it deserves a 4 star plus rating. I think a 3 star is good and I sure hope they do not try and do a remake. Over all movie gets a 8 base on scale of 0-10This movie with all of it twists and turns was ok. Great Classic cops and robbers
Great actors great story great movie........ This is a classic cops and robbers movie.. I watched it with my aunt and grandmother when i was a kid and loved it. Thats why I bought it great memories..... This is definitely not a b movie..... one to watch anytime.
