Very basic, but not bad
The main reason I bought this little phone is the 300 minutes that are included with the package. I think most retailers sell this item at around 30 bucks or so excluding tax. So you basically get 300 minutes at a cost of about 10cents per minute and a free phone, which is a good deal for a prepaid. The sound quality is excellent for such a little device. And people on the other end generally say I come in loud and clear. The functions are all pretty self-explanatory and easy to use. The font size on the screen is a bit small so you might have to put on your readers to avoid eye strain. Also the keypad is very compact so it takes some getting used to. No camera.....no internet....no bluetooth.....it's a phone. Prepaid! No more $60-a-month bills! Roll-over!
What a 'buy'! The Net10 service seems to be working out just fine (did get a non-connect warning "For Emergency Use Only" in a few outlying areas). ??? The LG300 is a nice little phone. And I do mean "little". Dinky, in fact. A "micro"phone. Being only 4" long and light, I have to pat myself down to see if I'm carrying it! And I feel as if I have to move it from ear to mouth when using (not necessary). Nice concave 'click'ing buttons. Not crazy about menu navigating. One 'bad' is that the item on the menu is outlined in.....dark blue (can't read the damn thing!). So you have to do an up-and-back to see what menu item you're on! Stand-by time seems superlative. N.B.: upon activation the SIM card is permanently usable in only THAT phone. No other. I called tech support and ... What a 'buy'! I called tech support and after asking the Asian person to slow down and enunciate about a dozen times, I gave up and ended the call (I had asked for a person whose "native language is English" but the techie ignored/probably no such person within a thousand miles). I beleive if I get another such 'deal' on eBay with a nice, big clam-shell phone that the minutes and number can be rolled-over into the new one. You CAN'T BEAT this guy's deal! Phone and two chargers, case (magnetic clasp is nice!) and the stupid ear buds all came quickly and for less than the talk-time would cost!!! I believe I even saw a phone card (Dollar Gen?) for $10 for 100 minutes. Not like the $10 T-mob card I got at a 'Target' that netted me 30 MINUTES! (it doesn't say this anywhere on the package!)(this was one of the reasons I switched)(another being a warning email from T-mob that my service term was about to expire a week AFTER my service expired, thus losing 5.5 hours of talk-time).

It's just a bare-bones, no-frills phone that's reminiscent of the mobile phones in the 90's. Not surprisingly, then, the LG 300 is nothing to write home about. But I will say this -- the LG 300 is sleek and one of the most compact and lightweight mobile phones I've seen. The battery life on standby time is about 4 days. I can't speak to its battery life on talk time because I've never had a long enough phone conversation to determine it. It uses a ... No Hidden Charges ----------------- No wireless contracts or penalties for early cancellation. No roaming charges. 10 cents per minutes, plain and simple. Rollover minutes ---------------- If you buy more minutes before your old minutes expire, your old minutes will roll over and expire the same time as your new minutes. Minutes will keep rolling over for as long as add more minutes before your current minutes expire. The airtime available for purchase come in 150, 300, and 180 minutes: cost in dollars/airtime in minutes/expiration in days 15/150/30 30/300/60 180/1800/60 3 Convenient Ways To Add Minutes -------------------------------- You can add minutes by: 1) buying Net10 phone cards 2) buying airtime through the Net10 Website 3) buying airtime directly from the LG 300 phone. Decent Coverage --------------- Net10 reportedly uses both AT&T (formerly Cingular) and T-Mobile networks. Most of the time, I have no problems with coverage in my area, although I do get dropped calls every now and then. Customer Service ---------------- Net10 could definitely use some work on their customer service. I had to call customer service on at least a couple of occasions for (1) minutes failing to appear on my phone after I've purchased airtime and (2) problem transferring my phone number from an old phone to a new phone. It took about half an hour for them to credit me for my minutes and almost an hour to get my number transferred to my new phone. Part of the problem is _communication_ with the operators. It was a little frustrating getting them to *listen* and *understand* the issues I was trying to explain to them. But I will say that at the very least their operators are courteous. If you can get past their customer service - well - Net10 offers very competitive rates. Hopefully you won't have to deal with their tech support, ever. Many of the support you need is automated on the Web.

Good phone!
Decent phone for its price! Great phone to make calls... Don't expect nothing major from this phone... It does not have camera, its display is not huge, but it has its good points too! Lightweight, great battery life, cute but resistant phone! Net10 is a good provider, with cheap calls and text messages... I bought this phone for my girlfriend, so that we could stay in touch easily... I would definitely recommend it to a friend!Decent phone for its price! Great phone to make calls...
