  • I would not recommend this for your parents but yes to tech-savy frugals!

I am on the fence about the Kin TwoM. It definitely requires you to spend some time getting used to it. It really needs a user manual and you have to be willing to do your own research to really learn how to use it effectively. On the negative side... it was really annoying to have to input all of my contacts by hand. I spent two whole days trying to read online how to get them off of Windows Live, but you can only get the numbers, which in my opinion is pointless. So if you get this phone, just suck it up, spend two hours and type in your contacts! The phone is a little bit flimsy on the hinge and the battery life hasn't lasted as long as I would like, I have to charge it every day and I don't use it heavily so I find that a little silly. But just charge it every night and you'll have ...

  • Good phone, Wifi & Bluetooth good, half smart, not a full smart phone.

I bought the phone because I wanted occasional Internet access without paying $30 for the full data package. I like the calendar, and many public places do have Internet. E mail and texting work well. Phone works good in weak sigal areas. I do not like, the ringer. It is not loud enough. In even moderatly noisey areas I cannot hear it ring. Sound is good but speaker phone is poor.I wonder if the Kin Two M has louder ringer? I use Bluetooth to overcome the low ringer volume. Overall is more phone than if I just bought a straight cell phone. I call it my half smart phone. Some features of a smart phone but not all.

  • Overall there are more pros then cons. :)

This was a great buy. Like everything else you buy, it has some pros and cons. The phone does not have a calendar or calculator. Could not get into any of my social networks facebook, twitter, etc. And since the Kin was discontinued by Microsoft, they don't have their website up anymore. Therefore the phone is programmed for everyone who owns a Kin phone to have a Kin a account. Unfortunately that's virtually impossible because the Kin in general are discontinued. So every time you turn the phone on it ask you to make an account, but in reality you can't cause there is no website to join anymore. Just kind of annoying. Those are really the only bad things. Everything else is good. I like the qwerty keypad. The display and feel is awesome. The camera is amazing and wifi makes it simple to ...

  • Great phone for the price. Limited apps and support.

This phone has the potential of being something amazing! Since the apps for Facebook, Twitter and MySpace have been removed in this edition and you have to access these social sites directly from the built in browser, there is not much demand for this phone at this time. Microsoft has discontinued developing the Kin OS and apps to go with it. Despite these set-backs, this phone does a wonderful job organizing your songs and it's reception as a phone is above average. There is no voice dial feature when hooked to a Bluetooth device, but the interface is easy to navigate. As a simple touchscreen phone, this one is amazing! It does not require the data package and in my humble opinion, it is the best phone you can get without being forced to subscribe to the infamous Verizon data plan.

  • Not a smart phone, won't download apps or ring tones but a pretty good deal

Since the Microsoft Kin Network was taken down Jan 2011, all of the fancy features involving uploads or social networking no longer work. But, I bought the Kin Two knowing this and as a 3G phone; 8mp camera/ HD video with 8x zoom 8 Gb memory; WIFI browser, it works pretty good. This is my first touch screen phone. It is locked to Verison which I use for 'Pay As You Go' which I was using before. I did the switch over online and it was pretty simple. It tends to drop the WIFI connection at home but it hasn't happened elsewhere.
