Product Information

Based on the infamous novel LES LIASONS DANGEREUSES by Choderlos de Laclos and the subsequent Christopher Hampton play, set in pre-revolutionary France, a cunning Marquise (Glenn Close) and a seductive Vicomte (John Malkovich) mastermind a cruel and complicated game of romantic manipulation. Set against the backdrop of high-society baroque boudoirs, filled with deceitful lovers and cunning sexual gamesmanship, the Marquise and the Vicomte agree to a competition involving a virginal young bride (Uma Thurman) and a faithful wife (Michele Pfieffer). When the Vicomte successfully seduces the virtous and faithful wife they unexpectantly fall in love, breaking the rules of the inhuman Marquise's clever parlor game with vengeful results.

    simply the best

    The price is right. the quality of the cd is always excellent from this vendor and the story is very involved and has a bit of everything in it. It is one of my favorite stories and It is one of the few pictures I can watch over and over again. Nobody ever guesses the ending and the plot is so intricate that everytime I watch the movie I see something else that I missed. I highly recommended It. The quality Of the cd's from this vendor is always impeccable

    Glenn Close in a Master Class

    Malkovich has never been better and Glenn Close was robbed of an Oscar for her stellar performance. Just a great yarn and well done. 5 stars. The other adaptation of this same book, called Valmont is good as well, but this is the definitive version.

    great performance

    John Malkovich is particularly good in this part that seems to be written for him. So is Glenn Close. Surprising good is Uma Thurmann whom has not allot of acting experience at this juncture in her short career. I must see period piece!!

    Dangerous Liaisons

    Very engaging plot. Many twists and turns. Glenn Close is a master of evil. John Malkovich is as sinister as she is. They both get their just desserts.
