The TomTom 3rd edition mount is actually a large suction cup, which securely holds the 6.14-ounce mobile unit. It doesn't matter if you live in chilly Canada or warm Arizona because the TomTom 3rd edition navigator withstands temperatures as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit or as hot as 131 degrees F. The silver plastic housing surrounding the GPS electronics device insulates the components while you drive or when left in the car.This system is simple and functional with a straightforward interface and no superfluous features. You're easily able to download any software update for the TomTom because updates are found for free on the manufacturer's website. If you're traveling to Europe, pick out a map category that suits your needs, and download it through a USB cable attached to any computer.     OK

    I guess it's a pretty basic and early version of a dedicated GPS. My google maps GPS on my phone has richer features and more detailed images. For basic navigation this seems fine. I've not used it much.

    One of the worst TomToms I have owned.

    I own and use several GPS units, mostly TomToms. Had a Magellan...did not like it, gave it away. Have a Garmin...don't like it and am going to give it away too. My favorite GPS is my TomTom XXL which I use a lot and like. I also own 3 TomTom XL's which I use occasionaly. My brother-in-law boutght a car and started driving so I got him a TomTom for his car, the cheapest I cud find was the TomTom One so I got it for him. It is very difficult to program since the screen only works part time so have not used it.

    Obsolete but good - like me :)

    Happily replaced my even older model that had finally died after years of sporadic use and was able to do it economically. Did not have to learn a new, more complex model. This one does not play nice with the new TomTom update software package, but at a small fraction of the price of the new models, I was happy to acquire this one!

    very user friendly

    great little device, easy to use. recommend to anyone. Uploading maps and updates from the TomTom web site is a cinche. Very light weight and easly stowed anywhere out of sight of thieves. Recommend suction cup display, this thing sticks like glue even when it is cold out.

    Replacement with all one needs

    My second Tom Tom, as a replacement. The item is compact,and meets all of the needs I have for finding my way through unknown areas in the USA. All features come with a clear to read screen and the necessary attachments for car use.
