It separates your servers from the confines of LAN to cut down on the number of cords and cables needed, without having to add additional switches. Beyond the convenience of not having cords and wires tangled all over the place, the 455880-B21 allows you to switch servers in a matter of minutes with one-time wiring and eases the management of the Virtual Connect. The HP Flex-10 technology offers several options for connecting the module to networks or storage outside of your own servers, including familiar standards like Ethernet, Fibre Channel, and InfiniBand with 10gb storage. The network connections and speed used will be modified based on your application needs, which makes it great for all sizes of operations. An 8-port Ethernet switch can auto-sense lower bandwidth components while networking to not only work to enhance connectivity but also help to reduce infrastructure costs, which makes it ideal for any business or office setting. This is accomplished by increasing the number of NICs per connection to the servers without adding extra blade I/O modules. The Ethernet has 10GB storage for a total transfer rate of 10000 Mbps, making it flexible for HP c-Class Bladesystems, which is a new class of integrated interconnects from HP. Beyond being convenient for its flexibility and cost saving capabilities, the HP Virtual Connect 455880-B21 Flex-10 is also minimal in taking up space both with servers and with physical office space. It weighs approximately 15 pounds and is just over 10 inches long, which means it is easy to relocate when needed. Another plus to this 455880-b21 module being so compact in size and reducing the number of Ethernet cables needed is that it also cuts down on the power and cooling requirements when compared to standalone switches or pass-through modules. This feature not only will save your company costs but also make the servers and networking easier to manage. Another advantage to using HP Virtual Connect solutions is that you can add, remove, or upgrade blades for the servers and move around workloads without affecting the LAN or SAN. Though it has 10gb storage, the HP server is essentially designed to scale with the needs of your business and offers the option of a 12-port model and a 12-port upgrade license and even a 24-port model. It also contains an embedded virtual connect manager Web-based console so that you can manage the connection profiles for servers within your individual Bladesystem module.
