  • Fido Film Review

This film certainly is unique in its depiction of the world related to Zombies. It's unlike anything that's ever been produced in the past. The characters dress and the sets used match the era the writers would have you believe it is set in, however the acting is more of a modern style which doesn't match that era. The boy is the best actor in the film but in many other cases, the actors roles are exaggerated as is the actual actiing. The film has a good idea to it but it's just not portrayed onto the screen well. It's definitely not for the age levels suggested and I wouldn't suggest that anyone under 17 view this film for a number of reasons, mainly it's attraction to gruesome and disgusting material along with abusive behavior toward young kids including shooting them and tying them to ...

  • What can I say except that "Fido" is a mans best friend

The entire zombie subgenre has been so over done for so long that I was beginning to worry that there might be no coming back for it. Then, like a good pet who comes when you call him, along comes Fido. Set in America in the 50's, humanity has survived the zombie apocalypse, which happened much as it did in Romero's "Land of the Dead," and is now living safe inside fenced-in safe zones. There is an invention, a collar of some sort, that is able to quell the zombies' hunger for human flesh. Now they are used as servants, or, in some cases, pets. The plot centers around little Timmy Robinson (K'Sun Ray) and his pet zombie Fido (Billy Connolly). As the film proceeds, Timmy grows attached to his zombie like a boy to Lassie, and when Fido gets in trouble, ...

  • Fido is Just the Best

This movie basically takes place after the George Romero Classic, "Night of the Living Dead". Zombies have been Domesticated and have become useful. It is such an Absurd idea, that it works for this movie. Billy Connelly *Head of the Class*, *Open Season*, plays "Fido" a domesticated Zombie who is befriended by a lonely boy, and is like his loyal dog, always at his side. Accidentally kills a neighbor and then a big cover up begins. Leading to a rib hurting funny movie. I Highly recomend this movie to ANY true Romero and Zombie fan!

  • A Boy and His Zombie

An interesting, if somewhat odd ball perspective on the problem of the living dead. I stumbled on this quite by accident and decided I need to check out this new take on zombies. The concept of interactions between the dead and the living and the way the story is developed could certainly lead to all sorts of deeper comments and inferences about human, civil, and all sorts of rights. For me, I just tried to enjoy the film as a darkly humorous, sci fi comedy and recommend this to anyone who enjoys a little different treatment of a familiar genre.

  • This One Is Great! Don't Miss It!

This is a 2007 cult comedy sleeper. I stumbled upon it during a late night IFC showing. I immediately went on eBay to find and buy my own copy. After several attempts I have now won THREE copies on eBay to share with family and friends. It's still Rated R so watch who views it, but even the R Rating is only for Zombie Related Violence, I kid you not, it says so right on the back cover. What a HOOT! Enjoy!
