Real War Portrayal By The Soldiers Who Actually Were There
This documentary is disconcerting, but real. It just proved to me that America should never have gone into Afghanistan, just as it should never have gone into Vietnam. At least the officers and infantrymen in Afghanistan had better support than those in Vietnam, but they still struggled to understand why they were there, what was their objective, and how that objective would be achieved. They still had to deal with a native population that they didn't understand and did not trust. The documentary shows how traumatizing and futile the whole effort was for all involved.This documentary is disconcerting, but real. The best Documentary!
This is by far the best documentary I have ever seen! Very eye opening. Restrepo has really showed the sacrifice that the solders have made and the brother hood the have formed. To see them be ambushed and have their brother in arms next to him die and to be able to continue in untill their mission is over has really shown there dedication to help those in need. National Geographic did amazing job on this and I believe that everyone should watch this! (Espicially those who protest solders funerals) but thats just my opininon on that topic. Fantastic Documentary That Shows You What War Is Really Like
Excellent documentary. This award winning show is about the early days of the Iraq war and the company that was on the tip of the spear in the Korengal Valley. This is almost all first hand footage, and it puts you into the middle of the fight the way it happened, and not in a dramatized Hollywood way.

Own this film!
Brilliant film documentary - true story with real footage and engaging combat veterans. Junger is at his best with Heatherington. Just a great film!
