Product Information

Tom Hanks is Chuck Noland, a man in a hurry. His job for Federal Express has him traveling the world on a moment's notice, exhorting the company's employees to speed things up--"never turn your back on the clock." When he's suddenly called away for business on Christmas night, his tolerant longtime girlfriend Kelly (Helen Hunt) drives him to the airport. They have their Christmas in the car--and Chuck plunks an engagement ring into her lap right before he gets on the plane, telling her, "I'll be right back." But an unexpected storm cuts the plane's crew off from radio contact and blows them off course. Chuck is the sole survivor of the resulting crash, and washes up on a completely deserted island. Stranded there, he must give up everything that he once took for granted and learn how to survive all alone in the wilderness. From director Robert Zemeckis, CAST AWAY is a story of adventure and discovery surrounding one man's will to stay alive.

    Cast Away

    This is one of Tom Hanks best films yet! I certainly enjoyed it. Tom Hanks plays a play called Chuck Noland who works for Federal Express, who's always on the go at a moment's notice. He's called away for business on Christmas night and his girlfriend and he have Christmas in their car. When he leaves the car the last thing he says to her is that he'll be right back. Well that doesn't happen. The plane ends up in an unexpected storm, they lose radio contact, they go off course and it crashes. Chuck is the sole survivor of the crash, and washes ashore of a deserted island. While stranded there, he must learn how to survive in the wilderness by himself. A definite must see.

    Tom Hanks does it again!

    Tom Hanks is a splendid, captivating actor. In Cast Away, you feel like you are with Tom Hanks character, Chuck Noland, as he endures the trials and tribulations of being stranded alone on an island. If you're up for a movie of awesome acting, this is the one! On top of great acting, the movie can be viewed by both action, drama and chick flick lovers. It is a drama, but it has a little bit of each genre (action, romance, comedy, etc). It is a movie for all! If this review doesn't already say it, this movie is highly recommended and definitely a good buy!

    A tremendous, thought-provoking journey

    Not a crowd-pleaser, but an engaging and emotional story that challenges the audience. The utter loneliness and sheer loveliness of the desolate island and the relentless crashing of the waves is hauntingly beautiful. Tom Hank's acting is superb and compelling.

    Tom Hanks DVD

    Its Tom Hanks, what else can you say? personally I was sceptical about purchasing this one because I just couldnt picture Tom Hanks in this type of role. He played the well and I am glad I got this one. the color and settings for this movie along with the effects are totally awesome!

    Tom Hanks and Helen Hunt are sensational.

    This is a wonderful and entertaining movie. The acting between Helen Hunt and Tom Hanks at the end of this movie is some of the best I've ever seen.
