The Passport 9500ix detector boasts Escort’s trademark Traffic Sensor Rejection (TSR) software that is built into all Escort detectors, including the Redline and Passport ix models. This programming eliminates false alerts that are often given due to vehicle cameras, garage doors, and other band signals. Thousands of safety, stop light, and speed-based camera locations throughout North America are already installed into this device. Passport 9500ix radar detectors are designed for download updates, data backups, and continuous threat alert relays that Escort’s website sends out in order to prevent false alarms from occurring. With blistering all-band protection, you have 360-degree laser and radar detection whenever the device is powered up. This includes detection for K-band, Ka-band, Ku-band, VG-band, X-band, and laser that are located in any direction of the vehicle. Variable-speed radar performance adjusts with your vehicle’s traveling speed. The technology allows for changes in speeds of vehicles that are equipped with radar and laser cameras as well.     Solid mount; consider your mounting location.

    This is a fantastic radar detector mount. The single, large suction cup has the lever type suction which makes it stick well. The piece that clips into the radar is metal and will sustain heavy use. There are only two negatives that may or may not apply to your particular vehicle. If you have the black surrounding on your windshield (the kind with the little dots that feel rough to the touch) it will not stick to the glass on top of them. Additionally, the mount causes the radar detector to stick fairly far from the glass. This mount is best suited to applications where you intend to mount the radar to the glass low on the windshield or in the middle. If you like to mount it close to the top around the rearview mirror, consider another mount.

    Best Radar Detector I Have Used

    It leans as you drive, and you can mute specific areas where false alerts are common due to X band. Great range. Love that it plugs in. Which you could tell which direction the radar is coming from, but they are working on that.

    9500ix >> V1

    Awesome unit, light years better than most units out there, for city driving the V1 has more false alerts but the 9500ix is 100% accurate and you have to drive around enough for the unit to learn to avoid the false alarms so new areas don't filter out the false alarms. For interstate driving....9500ix is awesome! V1 only alerts slightly sooner and doesn't have nearly the same amount of feature the 9500ix does!

    Awesome detector!

    Escort is a reputable brand as it is, so I had little to worry about buying one. It's easy to use and works perfectly fine even though it was used. I ended up purchasing the hardwire kit so I could line it directly into the fuse box getting the main wire out of the way, and it fits perfectly above my rear view mirror. For anyone on the fence between this or other models in this price range, you can't go wrong with the 9500ix. It's easy to use, more than loud enough, and has great range (already saved my a** more than once). Plus, it's a heck of a lot cheaper than a ticket. The GPS functionality is really nice too, as it allows the detector to filter out false positives (eg. Automatic doors at stores) in areas you commonly travel through, so you pay attention when it goes off. All in all, ...

    This has been consistently among the top 3 radars every year for the last 6+ years.

    Just that says everything. Among every radar detector in all price categories the Escort PassportIX has been in the top 3 and usually #1 for at least 6+ years (I'm not sure when it came out, but I'm familiar with it going back to 2011) among every major magazine/electronic testers/etc., that puts out a ranking system of the top 10 radars of 2017, 2016, etc. This one is always right there around the top 3 outperforming ones that are a lot more expensive. I think this last year it was beat out by another one that Escort puts out that's like $2,000. I'm not familiar with a lot of the technical jargon, but this has always signaled me with plenty of time to slow done. It also gives very few false positives, in which case it has an automatic corrective measure that will fix itself if you go ...
