Dr. Macarthur is gentle yet absolutely committed to the unbiased and correct translation and transmission and explanation of the Word of God. Short of a full commentary, this Bible with its notes is a vast and nearly complete volume to answer and expound on most Bible passages and makes the difficult ones very clear. Defines much of the original texts and keeps the user's eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. It is not too difficult for a beginner or too easy for the seasoned Bible student. I will never "grow out of" this Bible. Print is easy on the eyes and, since it is a hardback, might need a protective carrier or cover. The MacArthur Study Bible
Pro: This is the 3rd one that I have bought. I was saved on May 23, 2004. I bought every kind of Bible I could get my hands on to try to understand what had and was happening to me. Then I found my first copy. The best thing about this version of the Bible is that (1) this is a very strong Reformed Bible, and is a Revised King James Version (RKJV) without any of the baggage that some of the newer versions have added to the faith once and forever delivered. (2) While I really enjoy the KJV for its poetry, the RKJV is easier to understand. For me, it is important to understand the context in which the scripture is written, and this study Bible does the best job of any I have found that is portable. MacArthur's commentaries are well written and easy to read. I highly recommend ... Pro: This is the 3rd one that I have bought. I was saved on May 23, 2004. Great study Bible for any believer teen years and up
Great study Bible, easy to understand. Each verse is well explained on bottom of pages. New King James version is easy to read for young people in 2017. Written by John Macarthur, who is a great Bible teacher and scholar of theology and also he explains historical context. I highly recommend this Bible for any believer teen years and up.

Best Translation with the best Notes.
Probably the best of the modern translations (NKJV) coupled with Pastor MacArthur's wonderful notes, this is one of the very best study Bibles on the market today, it would be useful to the beginning Bible student as well as the seasoned reader, in my parusel of the religious sites i find many people who have good things to say about this Bible. I sometimes quote Pastor MacArthurs notes when i teach the word.
