Synopsis
The twenty-sixth volume of this acclaimed series encapsulates the history-making events of 1997 in more than 400 cartoons by the top editorial cartoonists from the United States and Canada. Often humorous, sometimes poignant, and always interesting, these cartoons are guaranteed to tickle your funny bone and tug at your heartstrings as you turn the pages. With so many presidential scandals in 1997, you couldn't help but laugh. Editorial cartoonists couldn't help but draw (no pun intended) attention to President Clinton's involvement in illegal political fund-raising and in the Paula Jones case. Yet, editorial cartoons don't always criticize or condemn; they sometimes champion or commemorate. The loss of Princess Diana, Mother Theresa, and Red Skelton, to name three, caused editorial cartoonists everywhere to reflect on these personalities' lives and their impact on the world. Running the gamut from scathing to sarcastic to sincere, the Pulitzer Prize, National Headliners Club, National Newspaper Award/Canada, and the Fischetti Award winners are among the best cartoons of the year. ABOUT THE EDITOR Charles Brooks is past president of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists and was a cartoonist for the Birmingham (Ala.) News for thirty-eight years. He has been the recipient of thirteen Freedom Foundation awards, a national VFW award, two Vigilante Patriot awards, and a Sigma Delta Chi award for editorial cartooning. Brooks' cartoons appear in more than eighty books, including textbooks on political science, economics, and history, as well as encyclopedias and yearbooks. His original cartoons are on display in the archives of many libraries. He has edited this series for all of its twenty-six years., The twenty-sixth volume of this acclaimed series encapsulates the history-making events of 1997 in more than 400 cartoons by the top editorial cartoonists from the United States and Canada. Very satisfied! Reliable seller with fair prices. One ordered item turned out to be sold during the process, but was promptly refunded. Other ordered items arrived eralier than estimated. They were neatly packed and in the condition described. Contact with seller prior to the order wasn't possible, but communication afterwards was spotless.

Item is as described in post, great quality, clean, not damaged, great purchase. I'd like to point out that it was also shipped promptly, arrived on time, but the local post office refused to send me any notification of it arriving. Therefore I only got it today, almost a month late. The seller is at no fault, they shipped it on time. So I am highly satisfied with my purchase and the seller, highly recommend them for anyone on Ebay. Great books at great prices, amazing experience.
