À propos de ce produit

Product Information

A nuclear holocaust has turned Washington, DC, into a radioactive wasteland. Mutant creatures freely roam the land while a select few survivors live safely within underground shelters engineered by the Vault-Tec Corporation. Your uneventful life inside the vault takes a dramatic turn when your father mysteriously disappears. Looking for answers, you begin a journey into the great unknown -- a test of survival in an inhospitable environment. Based on the acclaimed post-apocalyptic role-playing series from former publisher Interplay, Fallout 3 features a wide-open world viewed from a choice of first- or third-person perspectives.

Developed by the team behind the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and featuring the same graphics engine, Fallout 3 has you embarking on an assortment of quests while exploring, scavenging, and battling for your continued existence. Scrap-metal cities and rusted shantytowns are sources of human contact, but in between them lurk a number of hostile threats. The real-time combat is modeled after shooting games, albeit with the option to pause time for more precise shots using V.A.T.S. (the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System). V.A.T.S. lets you pinpoint vulnerability areas with the help of percentage markers displayed on each body part. The higher the percentage, the likelier you are to hit the highlighted area.

Aiming at a particular body part can cripple it, affecting the enemy's ability to use an arm or leg in combat, while critical hits result in graphic displays of dismemberment. Defeating enemies earns you experience points to enhance your character's stats and acquire abilities called "perks," or specific talents in a chosen area of expertise. Fallout 3 also features some camaraderie in the form of a loyal canine named Dogmeat and a non-player character of your choosing. A licensed soundtrack with songs from the '40s and '50s helps set the mood, offering such hits as "Way Back Home," "Anything Goes," "Butcher Pete," and "I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire."

  • Fallout 3

Out into the Wasteland Rating Excellent The basic premise of the story is tried and true Fallout: Independence and the outside world are thrust upon you for one reason or another and you are left to sort out what you ultimately do. The big difference is that this time it is for personal reasons rather than some "for the greater good" motive. This gives your character a much more open venue to take care of things as you wish. I also like the fact that you get to participate in small parts of your life before adulthood. So Much to Do Rating Excellent Bethesda always seems to do a good job including side quests that have some value to them. If you only do the main quest you end up missing at least ninety percent of the game, not to mention there are a multitude of places to explore and ...

  • Fallout 3- different style, same great universe

Bethseda reimagined the Fallout universe with Fallout 3. No longer can one scroll their screen along with their character in isometric view, now you must have a 3rd or 1st person view. But, that is not necessarily a bad thing. It is different, however it allows one to zoom in and truly appreciate the detail of the game world. It can make it difficult to find every enemy and item, though, as it does not have the highlighting feature of the previous games- though one could use the VATS system in a limited way. The VATS system is essentially the remanent of the previous Fallout fighting system. You take a turn (albeit time is still moving slowly) to target a specific area and you use AP. It seems really cool, but it does take time. Overall the other facets (quests, characters, story) match ...

  • Great action adventure!

The game by way of graphics is amazing, those with a 1080p TV will be amazed at the detail and all around grittiness of "capital wasteland." Game play is quite innovative with the introduction of V.A.T.S. and the myriad of weaponry that one would expect to find in a post apocalyptic wasteland. However for those expecting a pick up and kill video game, where all the best weaponry and abilities are easy to come by be where. The game can be just played and beaten but to truly enjoy the game and make an interesting and strong character, a little planning and reading of the booklet and guide are encouraged. For the need to think ahead i have chosen to give the game a good rating because it may not be for some. However, i find myself playing the game over and over still discovering new things ...

  • game of the year!

Vault 101 -- Jewel of the Wastes. For 200 years, Vault 101 has faithfully served the surviving residents of Washington DC and its environs, now known as the Capital Wasteland. Though the global atomic war of 2077 left the US all but destroyed, the residents of Vault 101 enjoy a life free from the constant stress of the outside world. Giant Insects, Raiders, Slavers, and yes, even Super Mutants are all no match for superior Vault-Tec engineering. Yet one fateful morning, you awake to find that your father has defied the Overseer and left the comfort and security afforded by Vault 101 for reasons unknown. Leaving the only home you've ever known, you emerge from the Vault into the harsh Wasteland sun to search for your father, and the truth.

  • Fallout 3 sets a new bar of excellence

Graphics: Breathtaking 9/10 Sound: Great – 8.5/10 Gameplay: Spectacular – 9.5/10 Replay Value – High (for a single player only game) 9/10 Overall – Near Perfect 9.5/10 Please note: I have never played any prior Fallout Titles, and this is from a n00b prospective. Graphics: Breathtaking 9/10 The graphics are make you look twice – When you first exit the vault and see the landscape, you think to yourself “what next”? The graphic interface, use of PiP Boy and the movements really show that Bethesda took the time and care to make this well worth your hard earned money. Sound: Great – 8.5/10 The sounds, music, effects, and voices take you immediately into the game. The time specific music, the radio channels, and the voice acting are all A+. The reason for the slightly lower mark is the ...
