The Single Most Useful Business Book EVER WRITTEN
HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE literally transformed my life, along with the lives of countless millions of others in the past 70+ years. After reading this book I made a lot more money and was much happier both in my personal and professional life. My only regret is that I didn't read it 20 years earlier. This book should be required reading for every student in America, instead of half the nonsense they're forced to endure. Carnegie asserts that success is 15% ability and 85% communication. Now, I took "communication" in business school and it was a bunch of boring diagrams and buzzwords involving active this and passive that. Carnegie does not do this. Carnegie has such a passion for the art and skill of communication that it seems like the most interesting, most ... He also writes with a clear style that is always understandable and never seems dated. The paper version is a real page-turner and listening to the unabridged audiobook is the best 10 hours you'll ever spend in your car with the engine on. There have been countless self-help books published in the last 7 decades, but this book is the king granddaddy of them all. Whatever you're looking for in a self-help book, How To Win Friends And Influence People will help. You want more money? This book will help. You want more love? This book will help. The book that launched a genre...
This is the one book that started the genre of self-help literature in our society. No one book has been more influential, and had more staying power (unless of course you throw in the Bible, but that's an entirely different review ;)...I think the greatest thing about the book is the sheer number of applications Dale's advice covers. Simple task such as how to address people, to maintaining ones attention, to properly giving constructive criticism and much, much more. All corners of proper communication in an increasingly connected society are covered in these eight discs. Dale also follows up each of his lessons and advice with real-world examples broken down for the listener in an incredibly easy to listen format. I among many others have applied the lessons learned in this book to both ... This is the one book that started the genre of self-help literature in our society.
