    Surprising good, with a little bit of comedy and action

    I was never a fan of firefly the series before I saw this film. But after hearing about it and listening to somme of the music that came from the film I decided to give the film a try. Now I want to see the series just so I can learn the background of the characters a little more. Surprising the film was excellent and had a nice touch to it. The best part about the film was that it didn't have aliens and other stuff in that nature. It was just humans trying to survive in space and the normal outlaws here and there trying to make a living. The film has a nice cast of characters, everyone doesn't seem to have anything in common, but they all just have that vibe that makes it work. Another thing I like was how there was comedy mixed with action, giving you a good laugh here and there. ...

    Serenity movie

    This was a great addition to the tv series, Firefly, which should not have been cancelled. The movie was a bit more serious than the series, but still had it's comical moments. Nathan Fillion was an excellent leader to the group of misfits that inhabited the Serenity, each playing their parts in total devotion to their captain. The ending was very climatic and victorious for the group, though losing part of their crew. I would definitely recommend this movie.

    This movie is an all-time favorite at an awesome price!

    One of my all-time favorites, this movie is a must see for any and all Joss Whedon(director/creator also, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer Tv series which was preceeded by the movie in the 80's-the comparison night & day!) fans!! This movie is a follow up from the 'FIREFLY' Tv Series which I had never watched or heard much about prior to seeing this movie. I loved this movie so much that I had to purchase the one and only season of 'FIREFLY' (14 episodes) with tremendous disappointment that the show had been cancelled, even so I still bought the set. Nathan Fillion was introduced to me in the 'Buffy' series as 'Caleb' and had such a strong presence on screen dispite the fact that he was cast as an uber evil of all evils. Therefore, I knew this movie had to be great! (so was 'SLITHER' ...

    Serenity is an Action Packed Adventure

    This is one incredible movie. No, you don't have to be familiar with the series to enjoy it, but the familiarity will make several moments in the movie that much more tragic. The action here is incredible, and unlike several of the Star Trek movies, the characters don't deviate from their series personnas. The emotional impact of several scenes is so intense it was hard to stay seated (a crash landing sequence can almost give you motion sickness). This brings a satisfying end to the storyline the original series had started. It's a shame the show never got to tell this story in its entirety. You can see where some parts of the movie are rushed in a way. Something that could have been stretched over weeks in a series had to be handled in minutes, and that robs it a little.     Serenity

    The movie carried on with where the short-lived TV series left off. The theme of the movie was to show how some future government followed in many governments of the past in that that future government thought that it (the said future government) knew better how their citizens or subject knew how to lead their lives. Sort of a study in micromanagement. The Refers (the crazed, killer outlaws) were discovered to be the consequence of a mass drug experiment of this future government. The point of the show is that of the series ---- promotion of the individual as apposed the varied and seething masses. I enjoyed it a lot and recommend it.
