We had to make new rules for America and set the path for the country we would grow up to be. And who better to be our first-ever leader than the general who won the war--George Washington! He was the father of our country and made some incredible decisions that still affect how we live our lives today! But even so, President Wash­ington knew that he couldn't stay president forever or we might end up with a king, just like England. We'll watch as he makes his tough decision to step down to spend more time with Martha Washington and his adopted grandchildren, Nelly and Wash. Then we'll saddle up and ride into the presidency of John Adams, who followed in some very big footsteps with the help of his accomplished wife, Abigail. Then we'll rush, rush, rush to the year 1803, when Thomas Jefferson continues the mission of creating America by making a risky decision to buy a lot of land from the French in the Louisiana Purchase, which more than doubles our size! Using advice from the early presidents, first ladies, and a former U.S. congressman, the crew works to defeat an old nemesis. The question is-- will it be enough? What are you waiting for?     Rush Reveals the Falsehoods of Revisionist History in an entertaining way.

    I've read all four of Rush's excursions into history and read them to my grandchildren. All the books are well researched, and subjects are presented in entertaining way. I'm a student of history , but have learned something new from each of the books. The Presidents, reveal these great men as ordinary people who put the Country ahead of personal fame.

    Beautiful book with great message

    Another great book by Rush. The cast of characters keeps kids engaged in reading it while imparting so much 'forgotten' or 'ignored' US history. Book is very well made with beautiful pages that look 'olden.' Great buy for anyone.

    Happy

    We are really excited about these books. Started off with the first book of the series and going to work on through to the very end. These are great as read aloud for a huge range of ages. My tykes are definitely intrigued. Very happy!

    amazing history

    I buy these history books for my 8 yr old great grandson so he will be proud of our country. He and his father read every night and even his father said he has learned things he did not know, they both love these books.

    Fun history lesson

    This book is part of a series that is written toward a child's learning experience. It is told from an imaginary character traveling through time to our country's early stages. So,as you read it,you are also learning history. I actually read the book before I give it to my Grandson.
