In exchange for $2,000 she agreed to carry 89 grams of heroin to Tokyo for a friend, but before she even boarded the plane she was caught by Bangkok Airport security and ultimately sentenced to 25 years inside the infamous Lard Yao prison. In this shocking account, Sandra details the four and a half years she spent in Thai prison and describes scenes of horrific brutality and suffering. She tells of her daily fight for survival, of the many women who died with no medical care or loved ones around them, and of her acceptance of her guilt and ultimate redemption.     A true story about survival

    This is a true story about a young woman name Sandra who spent two years traveling around Thailand and living in Bangkok, Eearning a living by teaching English. One day Sandra became very sick and was unable to work. Her money was running out and she was desperate to return to the UK. She made friends with Robert Lock,who after a very short introduction took advantage of her situation and offered her a "tempting" offer. Transferring i89 grams of heroin and 600 capsules of temazepam, for his personal use, from Bangkok to Tokyo. In return she will get enough money to buy a plane ticket to go back to her country and leave all this behind her.     Forget you had a daughter.

    This book was recommended on traveling forum. It is one of the most powerful books I have read in my lifetime.It is a MUST for everyone who does a lot of traveling. It is a MUST for every parent as well.

    Don't Forget This Book

    This story was featured on Locked Up Abroad but it did not depict the inhumane and shocking conditions of the Bankok prison system like this book did. Anyone interested in prison life will want to read this one.
