A MIRACLE IN YOUR HANDS
Forty-three years ago an empathetic, kind woman placed a small paperback book into my hands, squeezed them and gave me a loving smile. GOD CALLING and its messages from the editor A.J. Russell and the writers "The Two Listeners" jump started my dying heart and gave me a point to hold onto in the midst of the storm in my life. For almost forty-three years (lacking only 30 days), I have read GOD CALLING each and every day with very few exceptions. It ministers on a level of need that GOD HIMSELF understands. GOD CALLING is my go-to gift for students, newly weds, almost weds, shouldn't have weds; and all situations, for all persons and ages in between mature young people, to teens, to young adults, to adults, to mature adults and even to those of us closer to the ends of our lives on this ... BEST BOOK FOR A CLOSER WALK WITH GOD
This is my favorite book of all time! It's a beautiful and passionate love story between the reader and God/Jesus. Two annonymous nuns spent years preparing this book, didn't want any notoriety or claim to fame, with all glory going to God. The book is a year-long devotional guide that references Bible scriptures and then gives day-to-day examples of how our lives interact with God's and allows us to experience the words and teachings of Christ as if he were speaking directly with us. An example would be a passage that reads, "Ye them that wait upon the Lord." From there the day's note would suggest that if your prayers aren't answered it may be because you want Jesus to answer prayers based on your timeline and not God's. God's calling is so poetic and graceful I'm listing it in my website walkonwaternow.com as a devotional guide to help others build their spiritual relationships with God and the Holy Ghost/Spirit. So many people don't realize that the Holy Spirit they seek is in their hearts/souls already, and it's just a matter of cultivating it, feeding and nurturing it. I've experienced such joy with this paperback, I've ordered multiple copies for my friends. The reason what these ladies have done with this book is so pivotal has to do with nurturing your spirit with God's. We are all children in God's eyes, Jesus said my sheep know their master and I know my flock and call them by name. As children we're fed through scripture everyday and the nurturing the book offers will deter any temptation or depression that enters your life. Passages of the book for example, that reference "Ye have not because ye ask not" detail how if we bring all the desires of our hearts, our wants, needs, dreams, weaknesses and areas where we struggle and leave them on the altar for God to deal with we will have our prayers answered. I'd also recommend this for any new Christian, Catholic, Baptist or soul seeker who wants a closer walk with God. All you need to do is ask Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit in your life, in your heart as your saviors, protectors and guides, and then start cultivating your relationship through a good church home, prayer groups, Bible studies, baptism, and following the rules of the Bible, obeying the commandments, tithing, loving even your enemies - and yes, the book covers this. It teaches that we are blessed when we have enemies. It is only then that we know we have gifts they want, or that there is a prize ahead worth fighting for. Look at your enemy as a wild animal that you approach that growls. It may be protecting its young, thinking you are a threat, or it's protecting its prize (food/necessities). We have our enemies to thank and should ask God to give them mercy because they don't know any better; deep down they are scared children with no direction. Think of Pontius Pilot who rescinded his thoughts that Jesus was a criminal who should be slaughtered over Barrabas who was a murderer. Even Pontius Pilot came under conviction when he realized Jesus was the Son of God. The book is amazing, helping me to mold my life after the disciples and pave the way for a closer walk with God. I pray that you find a copy - it will be one of the best investments you will ever make. The second best investment would be if you buy more than one and give the book to someone you love, who you want loved more not only by you, but through a closer walk with God, because he is calling. "Behold, I stand at the door and knock."

Great daily devotional
Bought this for my husband, who's original copy of this book fell apart, with pages that came out, after years of use. Apart from the Bible, this is the book he reads most. He loves it and was so thankful to get this one as a replacement of his old one. I love it too!

God Calling
I love the book as have bought many copies over the years. I purchased two from eBay. One was SO old that it fell apart in sections the first time that I opened it. And the odor was awful. I just threw it in the garbage. The other book was quite old and had a bit of an odor as well but at least it stays together.
