One Crazy Summer....great summertime movie!
Starring VERY young actors John Cusack, Demi Moore, and Bobcat Goldthwait, this 80's teen angst movie depicts the age old boy-meets-girl-boy-meets-girl's-neanderthal boyfriend-boy-meets-another-girl against the backrdop of Nantucket in the midst of summer, with a few really quirky twists for good measure (a greedy developer tries to buy property for a kitschy restaurant, an uglier-than-heck dog and his little mistress torment the locals, and a boat regatta completes the mix)! It's fun, it's campy, it's cheesy, and yeah, it's kinda lame on a LOT of levels, but for the most part, this movie is just good summer fun. John Cusack and Demi Moore play off each other pretty well, and Bobcat Goldthwait throws in his screaming quasi-hysterical act, which goes pretty well with the scene where he ... Great movie with lots of fun, laughs, and 80's magic.
This is one of those movies that's etched in my mind. Grew up with these movies in the 80's and watched them again on HBO/Cinemax in the 90's. I would say One Crazy Summer is probably in the top echelon of 80's teen comedies. John Cusack is also in the top 5 of young actors from that period, not to mention you get the beautiful Demi Moore in an early role. I'm a big art fan and enjoy drawing whenever I get a chance so this movie really hits that nail home with Cusack being an aspiring artist and using his drawings in short animations throughout the movie that kind of give it an edge over other 80's flicks. I'm guessing this movie is out of print for the time being because I couldn't find it in any store. This dvd version was perfect for me and I was able to find it here on ebay for a ... I smiled
Good memories, seeing these actors when they where young, I saw this movie when I was a kid. I smile and laugh. Good movie to watch, funny story line. takes you back to better simpler times, the 80s.

Hilarious!
A great comedic romp from the 80's. Funny characters, story line, and who knew Demi Moore could sing?!? Very entertaining and worth a watch.

one crazy summer
Just a lot of laughs! This is one of those films with a lot of young actors on there way up. And a lot faces you have seen around that you don't know the name, but you know the face. Watch close for some simple, but great visual gags. True, it is another rich jerks vs average joe's, but it has fresh ideas, jokes, jerks vs joe's contests and the big winner take all finish. And without a doubt, the best all time Godzilla gag ever!!!Just a lot of laughs! This is one of those films with a lot of young actors on there way up. And a lot faces you have seen around that you don't know the name, but you know the face. Watch close for some simple, but great visual gags.
