Reviews
"Every once in a while a book comes along which distills and delivers the truths of the Bible with profound simplicity and disruptive integrity. From Fear to Freedom is just such a volume. Rose Marie writes as both a skilled teacher of the Scriptures and a living epistle of God's grace. Her book is a dangerous collection of insights into the liberating power of God's love. Like a Trojan Horse, this seemingly harmless grandmother offers stories calculated to bring freedom to prisoners (like me) of unbelief, legalism and self-pity. Read with care, but by all means read!" --Scotty Smith, Senior Pastor, Christ Community Church, Franklin, TN and author of Objects of His Affection " From Fear to Freedom is a powerful and captivating book. This book is 'must' reading for those who want to live daily in the freedom and joy of God's grace." -- Jerry Bridges, author of The Pursuit of Holiness and The Joy of Fearing God, "Every once in a while a book comes along which distills and delivers the truths of the Bible with profound simplicity and disruptive integrity. From Fear to Freedomis just such a volume. • No Longer An Orphan

I had read Rose Marie Miller's husband's book, Repentance, and loved it so when I was told by a friend about Rose Marie's book, I ordered it immediately. She writes about how God worked in her life and brought her to a place where she could trust Him as her heavenly Father. She didn't realize how controlling she was and how she was blaming everyone else for her failures. Her self-righteous spirit kept her from knowing the freedom that comes through humbling herself at the foot of the cross. She began to repent of living in her own feeble strength and acting like an orphan and her life began to change. She began to trust her heavenly Father and take responsibility for her own choices. It is a beautiful story of God's grace working in her life and how He was able to take away her fears of ...

  • Relying on God's Grace

I highly recommend this book! I could see myself in the author's struggles with self-effort as opposed to accepting God's Grace. She compares the characteristics of an orphan (trust in self) with a true son or daughter (relying on God as Father through knowledge of the cross). She stresses that forgiving others is the key to peace. I had to really admire her willingness to become transparent in discussing her heritage, husband, and family and her own weaknesses before and after her growth. She grew closer and closer to God as she trusted Him to be there for her and relinquished her own will. "The deepest wisdom comes to those who admit they don't have it--that Grace runs downhill to the humble". "The faith that saves is the faith that sanctifies, because it rests alone on Christ and ...
