A rope thrown to a drowning woman
I recently joined Alanon and noticed one lady had this little book..."One Day at a Time". She told me she had started Alanon last year and found this book in the local Library. She said it had helped her soo much. Well, I wanted that help, too. So I went on Ebay and found this book. It arrived pretty quickly and I immediately began reading it. It is a Daily devotional but I (like my new friend) started at the beginning and read it all the way through in 2 days. It is just that good... seriously. Enlightening. Understanding. Definitely gives Hope. One way or the other, this book will benefit anyone affected by alcoholism. I was going to highlight key points while reading it, but there were so many gems of wisdom I would have highlighted the entire book. I am now reading one ... I am now reading one page at a time...daily...and slowly, letting it sink in. Sometimes I re-read parts and even softly read out loud to my self. I also purchased "Courage to Change" and read that cover to cover. It, too, is very good....but "One Day at a Time" is hands down the best. I will keep it forever and use it daily. It speaks right to my soul, as a wife of an alcoholic who loves her husband of almost 50 years but can barely stand living with him a good percentage of the time. It is like an extension of an Alanon meeting. A rope thrown to a drowning woman.... I am going to purchase a few more copies so our group members can have their own book. The lady that had checked it out of the library had already renewed it twice and just hated to have to return it. I'm going to get her a book of her own. God bless anyone reading this. You must be on the same road we are on. Find an Alanon group....I promise you will be glad you did. Peace.

One Day At A Time In AlAnon
It is a wonderful book for anyone who has a friend or loved one with an alcohol problem. There is a reading for each day of the year. In the index is a list of topics, so if you have a certain problem it is easy to find all the readings that deal with that particular problem. The readings are easy to understand, and very helpful in keeping us on track as we deal with living with or are associated with a person with addictions. This book focuses on how to make ourselves better and not let a seemingly imossible situation get the best of us. As we make a better person of ourselves, the loved one with the addiction often notices a change in us and wants to do better themselves. The daily readings were written by ordinary people, just like you and me. It is easy to relate to the ... It is a wonderful book for anyone who has a friend or loved one with an alcohol problem. It is not a book to learn how to stop the alcoholic from drinking, or to try and change his/her behavior. It is a self-help book. Even if you don't have someone in your life with an addiction, following the 12 steps yourself will give you a better way of living and handling all of life's situations. One Day At A Time In AlAnon is definitely a book to keep and make reference to every day.

Great Book.
This is a great book for anyone who has had a loved one with an alcohol issue. I would highly recommend it.

A must have
If you are just starting out in Alanon I would recommend this piece of literature‼️..... it is the first book that Alanon put out......a daily reader....you will be amazed how you start feeling better by jut reading the page of the day......I am a long time member of the fellowship so I constantly buy literature to give away......Enjoy in peace....Enjoy in love .....Enjoy in joy....🦋

Great stories of hope
AlAnon is very important program that helps families and loved ones of those addicted by Alcoholism. Being a member to a group in my area, I ordered this to be able to have others read stories of hope. There is much to be said about those who pass on through E-Bay these books so others can find hope. THANK YOU
