    The Talented Mr. Ripley

    Was not written yesterday, but feels very contemporary. I never realized that "Strangers on a Train" was a book by Patricia Highsmith until I read the inner jacket. This one is a great read, and I'm looking forward to reading "Strangers" soon.

    This book was wonderful and a terrific buy!

    I really enjoyed this book. It's very well written. I never saw the movie with Matt Damon, so I can't say how similar the book and the movie are. It's intriging, fasinating and a little creepy. Highsmith is a great writer. Though some things are dated (i.e. no cell phones or computers and security is lax by our current standards), the story holds up as a kind of psychological thriller. Can't wait to read the next Mr. Ripley book.

    Engaging study of a psychopath

    A novel far ahead of its time in that it does not conform to the traditional "evil will be punished" plot.
